App just updated. Looks like we scored first with Fuatimau on the wing. Up 4 nil.
Interesting that Fuatimau has come into the side for Oitmann. Oitmann looked quick and was also a part of the emerging Blues Camp with Fittler at the end of last year. Could be a forced change with injury too though.
Yeah I hadn't heard of Saint before....only the other 2. He has bagged a couple of tries today by the looks of it.All three Fuatimau brothers signed
with us. The family must be happy
with the support systems we have
in place for Iverson & possibly are
backing him (privately) to beat the
charges in his case..we'll have 2 C
Interesting side story none the less
Hopefully he has more accuracy in the closer games where it really matters.32-12 with 5 shots at goal missed.
Only 7 goals kicked this year from 18 attempts.Hopefully he has more accuracy in the closer games where it really matters.
The back line seem really talented. Can imagine a lot more tries scored out wide.Only 7 goals kicked this year from 18 attempts.
Need some serious practise.
On the positive side, the team is averaging 6 tries a game so far. Good bunch of kids.
.
That would be silly if true. Keep matchfit then step up.Both Kit Laulilii and Chris Faagutu are here helping out the Wests setup (carrying ice, ballboys etc.) and both don’t look injured at all.
Could both be resting for Flegg in a couple weeks time?
It was a funny game. Despite Wests being young they showed some real maturity at times, Souths committed a number of errors which wests did well to capitalise on. It seemed like Souths came with a game plan to shut down the running from our halves by jamming in quickly. Which worked to a degree.Karnib didn't see a lot of action but timed his jump to perfection to dive over from a bomb, also got one on the bell. The new Fuatimau that we've got (Saint) also dived over for a few tries. Gallagher was strong as was Luke Laulilii.
Large showed some nice touches with the boot but didn't run the ball once all game. He's playing very centrally, so rarely has any space to move in, would be nice to see him play a bit wider. He again missed every single kick at goal from the sideline. He really doesn't look like he had any technique in kicking, just hits the ball and goes for the best. He'd definitely benefit from a weekly session with Pat Richards or Benji and spend an hour practicing his kicks.
Isdale had a mixed game. Was involved in some nice backline movements but he's still far too selfish in my eyes. He runs the ball almost every time he touches it, he obviously loves beating an opponent and making his way down field but several overlaps were butchered by him running at 3 defenders rather than give the ball to his outside men. Hopefully something he can work on as he matures. Great for a half to have a strong running game, but ultimately it's their job to get the ball where it needs to go.
I know we always give a lot of credit to the Wests boys (and rightly so), but the highlights from Alex Conti this week are super impressive (except for 1 missed tackle).Harold Matthews highlights up
