OFFICIAL Harold Matthews Cup

Wests at 4:43. incredible tries to Isdale and Makasini, Glassie Glassie with a double.

Ashton Large a little quieter than last week by the looks, while Onitoni had some nice touches for two try assists which he made look pretty easy. shifted the ball to Makasini when he realised he was on the outside of his opposite, and double pumped for Glassie's second which sealed the match. few poor efforts from Fui and Reti in the middle which led to tries.

the biggest thing for this team, like many others, is maintaining the rage for 60 minutes. two weeks in a row we've blown away teams with our intent, size and skill but have then allowed them to come back into the game. might be a bench rotation thing more than anything, but I'm sure it's being addressed inhouse.

nevertheless, two from two with a game on the road against North Sydney coming up this week. barring any major hiccups I expect us to be 3-0 this time next week.

curious as to whether Isdale's made changes due to playing Norths or if there's injuries to Glassie, Reti and Faumui.

I tell you what, the Balmain Matt's squad, each player would be giving up 5-15kgs to their Melbourne counter parts. Storm recruiting big strong players, with the physical attributes needed for the NRL.
Our boys look like they've come from a local touch footy comp. They're swatting us away like flies, storming from one end of the field to the other each set.

I'd be amazed if any of these players ever play first grade. Probably the weakest the Balmain junior rep sides have ever been

Yeah. It is a total mismatch out there.

To be fair they are fighting. Hanging in there. Maybe a few big boys getting tired at the end of the half. The number 5 has been very strong, hard to put down. One of our bench forwards has also been strong.
Still it's hard to defend when the opposition can isolate a 60kg player against a 90kg player.

12-6 HT after Storm had one try disallowed for running too hard over our boy.
After a good run and finally a quick play the ball we dive over from dummy half on the bell. The bloody announcer waits until our kicker is on his way in to strike the ball before announcing the try scorer, very unprofessional

Zeke Edmed runs 60m from the kickoff and we score two tackles later. Bench boys have made a big difference

12-12

But then we drop the kickoff and they score 2 tackles later

Edmed has been good off the bench. Just need to give these kids time to gel

After making 15m working or off our line Storm stroll through out wide. Our fightback lasted all of a minute. Haven't been in it since the back rower dropped the kickoff. 24-12

After a penalty where we try hold them down they spread it and find a 3 man unmarked overlap out wide to score.

Think the 50 will be up soon, they're done. No effort left and head dropping

Our barnstorming winger has also been moved from wing to hooker for some reason.
Is Sheens still at the club?

Storm fumble a kick and we score in the corner

The whole right side has been awful. Hopefully they all get dropped. 2,4,7,20.

Our halves are pretty terrible, Storm halfback ripped us to shreds with his running and kicking game.

Balmains always been a small district with not much to choose from and their teams have struggled. Bar the odd bright spot when stars aligned and several very good. Players came thru at once

We've always been pretty competitive. Boys from holy cross, and a number of other talented kids, many of whom islanders.
The rumours that they're not selecting or recruiting based primarily on talent appears true sadly. If you're Lebanese, you're in. If your 170cm and 70kgs you're in. If you don't know how to catch a ball you're in.

22-10 with 13 to go
