Maguire is a myth time
He's the worst coach this club has had

I’ve just got one question for you spacecub. Who is your favourite player?

I actually think we have some really talented players...our problem is Maguire, the players have simply no interest in putting in for this bloke

There is not another coach in the competition who has so much money tied up in the wrong players.Until it is rectified we are are going to be handicapped. And please don't bring up JT because his roster at the time would run rings around this one. The one thing I think Maguire can lament is BJ - a risk that hasn't paid off at this point.

What about the roster was better? We had Tedesco, that’s it. We also had Lovett, Rankin, Buchanan, Milone, Edwards etc.If I took your post back in time to 2016, people would be splitting their sides.

The value of Teddy to any team is immeasurable - we would be a much better team with him now. Brooks played twice as good with Teddy at the back. We had some go forward with Woods and Tapau ( whom Taylor let go for Balin) JAC Simona and Moses for speed and the nucleus of decent spine to play behind and draw other players to the club - even with the plodders.

Or the bloke before, the bloke before that, and the bloke before that. Is it the coach that is the problem or the culture of the players?

All the talk about our squad that it’s poor it’s crap it’s this that, but the crap managed to finish 9th last 2 season. Maguire added
BJ, LL, AD, Harry, Musgrove ,Kepoa all of which are his signings to make the side stronger yet we are going backwards.
Who’s fault is it the way the side is not performing is on Maguire, the only thing he is building is a crumbling house

I know it's not going to happen, but I'd love to see our roster under a Bennett, Bellyache, Robinson or Flanagan, I think it will be plainly evident that it's not the players

With the job Payten and Holbrook are doing, I wouldn’t have thought any of Maguire’s defenders would have the hide to complain about his cattle.

Yeah, nothing shouts stability more than another coaching change before the contract is up.

But sooner than later someone needs to realize he's not the right one

It's clear we aren't as competitive as we were with Ivan Cleary. I know it sucks to say that. But it felt like we had a chance most games, even against big teams. Brooks was firing with Benji. Team felt like better spirited.

Have players ever thought about say I dunno like a novel idea of putting in for themselves..

Not sure they need a coach for that....

I'm unsure what people expect from Madge? Did anyone really expect us to match it with Melbourne last night? Understand that we are nowhere near the top 3 sides at present. Throw in Canberra as well.
Some of our young players are not yet up to 1st grade standard but they are in because of our lack of depth.
Others like Brooks, BJ & co will unfortunately always take up a spot in the side until their contracts expire.
As someone stated earlier, this re-build will not happen overnight. I think we are in for at least 2 more years of pus.
I hope Madge is still around then to coach players with 1st grade ability.

How do you know Payten is? Why don't you reserve judgment of Payten until he has had a couple of seasons as a head coach when there is expectation every week as opposed to the situation he is currently in.

2018, when Brooks won Dally M halfback of the year.

we don't have the cattle, we have a centre playing fullback and we have no halves.............not much he can do

How about he just gets us to compete, like Holbrook has done at titans and Payten with the warriors with a side that as players coming and going every week

we were competing and then the wheels fell off after the Bronco's game................as for the Titans a -147 for and against doesn't suggest they have been competing very well, but yes the Warriors went up a gear with Payten, however that was a change of coach which clearly helped..............it's never helped us in the past

Simona was a great centre and at one point our winning record was dependant on when he played
JAC only player when he did because Rankin was selected ahead of him. But you can't ignore the Teddy factor and his value to the team or any team
I will defend Maguire while our cap is the mess it's in. As I have said numerous time I can't see one other team in the comp that has there highest money earners as their worst contributers. When that is corrected he will be judged like all other coaches - by results. I will add the Titans pack would eat ours up and spit them out - no surprise at all how Holbrook has got them going.
As for Payten - "jobs for the boys, whiteanter" -
we could have had him, no problem with me.

It's not the players?? Are you serious? A fair few of these plodders have had more than one coach in their tenure at WT.
It's 100% the players. Starting with the myth of all myths Brooks.

Oh the old Dally M Halfback of the year chestnut. He was also average that year and every year until this clown disappears.

Sooner than later someone needs to realise that the players we have ,mainly the NRL seasoned players are professional football players on high contracts and should know the game inside and out..they should also understand that they need to tackle, play the ball correctly, pass the ball and backup your mates...unfortunately when these players dont reach expectations because of their ability as seasoned professionals and adults its easier to blame the coach who is trying to win games with some of these baffoons.
