Hurrell released by Warriors

Titans would not be a good mix for Hurrell. Storm under Bellamy would be his best chance to live up to his potential. Some players require a change of clubs.

Wouldn't even touch this player. He comes across as lazy and a massive attitude problem.

Your not willing to work hard and put in? These are the actions of a Club.
This might be the wake up call he needs.

I wonder who else if this is actually true

The Gold Coast Titans have released a statement confirming they are in negotiations with Konrad Hurrell but have also confirmed they aren't the only club interested.

Souths have been sniffing around him for a year or so, As for the Titians they seem to be pretty strong in the outside backs just do not see him getting a start. The young kid they have playing in the centres at present Davis looks a real prospect. Like big Tony Williams I we keep well clear of rejects

Officially signed by goal post titans

The Gold Coast Titans have agreed to terms with blockbusting former Warriors centre Konrad Hurrell on a deal for the remainder of this season and 2017.

The 24-year-old centre, a powerhouse at 104kg, was released by the Warriors yesterday.

Hurrell, who was born in Tonga but relocated to New Zealand in his teens and began playing rugby league for the first time in Auckland.

He played 71 NRL games for the Warriors after debuting in the first round of 2012\. He has also represented Tonga four times, including in the 2013 World Cup.

"It’s great news for this club; in Konrad’s 71 NRL games he has scored 41 tries which alone shows what a dynamic attacking player he is," Titans coach Neil Henry said.

"He will add depth to our outside backs which has suffered with the long-term injuries to David Mead and John Olive.

"At 24 he has his best football ahead of him and I look forward to him developing further on the Gold Coast."

Sooo Konnie on the Goldie…didn't see that coming..

Missed out again...

If his prepared to work his socks off and hopefully for his sake…...this is the wake up call he needs , he could really be a dynamite of a player , he has an amazing upper strength .

He just seems to be focused on other things than his Footy.

The samoan Dave Taylor. Big, scary looking, occasionally brutal, fat, over-rated, lazy, wasting talent.

(If i see him face to face i will of course deny I said any of that)

His career at the Warriors went into a steep decline roughly around the same time that a leaked 'Sex Tape' of him being pleasured by a Famous NZ TV Star came out.
Very surprised that it has taken this long for Hurrell and the Warriors to part company. For some reason the Titans were always the front runners to sign him according to all the rumours, is this because they are one of the clubs propped up by the NRL, if so why didn't the Tiges get a crack at signing him?.

The Titans like signing players with cult star potential like Jamal Idris, Dave Taylor and Konrad Hurrell to try and engage more fans. On his form of the last few years this is more of an optimistic marketing ploy than a piece of sensible recruitment that will improve the quality of their team on the park. I'm quite happy that we were never linked to him.

Nelson very well said and I 100% share your opinion.

Still think Melbourne Storm under Bellamy would have been his best option plus Melbourne have had injuries with their backs this year.

Hurrell reminds me of the former Aussie tennis player, The Poo (sorry can't spell his surname).

Both have more talent than most players but lack the drive and motivation to put in the hard work.

I remember when Boris Becker was his short term coach he came out and said this guy has so much talent and potential but prefers to sleep in, party hard and practice when he feels like hence he never reached his full potential.

I really admire players like Wayne Pearce, Des Hasler and what I have read on this forum Lovett who are not gifted players but train hard and always put 100% effort into their game and abilities.

I remember when Konrad burst onto the league scene and an article in the AUS press about how he was overlooked and couldn't get a run in NZ RU rep teams. All the league ppl were laughing their heads off! This young fellow like many before him and after him, have so much talent, but loose focus because of the demands of professional sports. I hope he, Sirro, Lovett and all the other young blokes succeed in their professional sport endeavours. Go Weststigers!
