A few observances from the three games yesterday.
* Same suspects Addo-Carr, Mitchell, Wighten, Haas and Papali who did not acknowledge the AUSTRALIAN National Anthem - I thought it was the Australian Kangaroos who played Tonga - obviously we have 5 players in the team that are NOT Australian. - Question: If so, why are they then in the team?
If they have "no passion" for the country and the jumper, maybe that is why the other teams have an advantage.
* I mentioned a couple of days ago about Mitchell and his attitude and that he was not worth one million dollars - I was pulled up for that by a few Forumers. To those people I just say I hope you watched the game and hope you have changed your opinion on what he is worth.
*I think a lot more thought needs to go into the Australian team selections and not just "let's just give some of these young blokes a go". A few changes need to be made methinks.
* Tui Lolohea is starting to come into his own - makes a difference with a good pack - Good on ya Tui I still think you are a good player and will still stand up and say so.
* How much ground did Kenny Bromwich cover to prevent that try in the corner - well done Ken - seems to be playing better than he ever has.
With respect Russ, it's ridiculous to suggest that someone is not Australian because they don't or won't sing the anthem. You might not like it, but they are still Austalians with a right to sing or not.
It has absolutely nothing to do with passion for ones country. It's the anthem they protest - nothing more.
There were a couple of " white " guys - no disrespect intended - who didn't sing as well. However I was a bit shocked at JAC flashing his mouthguard with the Aboriginal flag on it during the anthem. That was obviously planned.
Maybe their preparation should have focused more on their opponents and the game, rather than how they were going to make political statements.
