Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

Just caught up on everything and i must say there is no way in Hell you would want to be a Coach at the Panthers regardless of there squad , juniors , facilities while Gus "germ" Gould is there .
As Griffin says he runs the Club and makes all the decisions , he is a greedy piece of germ wants the money from Channel 9 while throwing his opinions out there for everyone to hear but at the same time be a control freak at the Panthers.

Even if Ivan was approached by the Panthers and even if he did entertain the thought of going back to the Panthers , if Ivan watched the Griffin interview then surely Ivan would be saying to himself nothing has changed at the Panthers and Gus still runs the show regardless what his staff have tried to tell Ivan…...Gus has probably said " don't care how you go about it but we need to get Ivan here as it would be damage control for us if we loose Nathan " so there just doing what this control freak tells them to do .

I will take Pascoe and Marina Go word for now that Ivan will not get a release and i'm very proud of the Club of how they have handled this situation thus far.

I think for Ivan's sake he needs to back peddle and sign an extension with us on his current deal to try and show that he was never going anywhere cause him being quiet just shows that he is obviously hoping that the 2 Clubs can come to a deal for him to go , why has Germ Gould tried to contact Go for ? love the way she said there is nothing she needs to speak to him about , his trying to work something out for his release i sense without damaging Ivan's reputation i sense .

More to come no doubt.

This is hilarious …lmao..

From saviour to the anti-christ and back again...

Just flown overseas and when I left this thread was on page 50, now it's in the 80's. So tried catching up but in summary no change and nothing from Cleary yet ?

Cleary has said nothing publicly

My head hurts.

The Gould interview is just bizarre. Too many things that just dont add up.

There is no way his board made a play for Cleary without first asking if Gould would be ok with that. Just wouldnt ever ever happen.

Then at the end he says he had to sack Griffin because he wouldnt have been able to handle the media storm that was coming. But ok so he throws the rookie Ciraldo in to deal with it. Griffin looks and acts much better equipped to deal with this kind of thing. He showed that on Fox last night where he was meticulous in throwing Gould under the bus.

Bottom line too many lies, too many half truths too much rubbish.

Makes you wonder if Gould has, knowing nothing has been offered to Cleary, done this all on purpose. Cleary got approached and so has done nothing wrong, but Gould has the media chase a story knowing there would be a backlash against Cleary even though he has done nothing. He hopes the Tigers get angry, Clearys position becomes untenable, and he moves out and Gus collects him down the road.

I would not put anything past Gould at all, and his media mates were on the Cleary story within 30 seconds of the Griffin announcement. Now how did that happen? Cleary or the WT would not have said anything, that would be counter productive…...

Ivan you seem a very level head, calm and intelligent man but what the hell are you even given a thought of going back to Gus he's a controll freak. Listen to what Anthony Griffin has to say about the whole episode especially the part when Gus was head hunting him saying Penriff were at rock bottom
which would indicate since you were the outgoing (sacked coach) it all happened on your watch.
Since Nathan has kicked on Gus can only see that to save his JOB he needs you so Nathan will stay if Nathan goes how long would Gus last the only thing Gus has to show for his time at Penriff is the training academy a list of sacked coaches truck loads of wasted money. Ivan you have been given the opportunity of building a club it would appear you have free reign at the Wests Tigers You have earned the respect of the fans and the media NRL players poll rated you 2nd as the person players wanted to be coached by dont throw this all away by going back to an over bearing buffoon YOU ARE MUCH BETTER THAN THAT.

Ivan will read this and reply..

I thought exactly the same mate. Gould knows everything that happens at the Panthers. He claimed that he didn't know everything that was said by the CEO to Cleary. Yeah right, someone in his position and with his media commitments would want to know everything (particularly if you are going to sack the current coach). I understand he cant say everything as he has playing cards of his own, but seriously, there are way too many holes in his story. I cant wait to see which direction this heads next

Interesting to hear Griffin say Penrith were in bad shape when he arrived, physically and mentally. Also mentioned their junior development programs were sub par. All on Ivan's watch?? Maybe Ivan isn't the man?

Yeah. I picked up on that too. But then said at the end that Cleary would be a good appointment for Penrith. **Seemed contradictory.**

Maybe not - it may have been a cynical comment that if its true that he ends up there he will fit right in to the culture Gus has.

Exactly. just too many inconsistencies and things that are hard to believe.

No way they ask Cleary if he would coach them without first asking Gould

Go was good, but never definite as Cleary has told her very little.

Gould, well, apart from the self serving and Griffin stories, he stated Ivan had multiple talks with their chairman.

Cleary is far from innocent and probably gone for mine.

In Gus's pod cast, he made an interesting comment, he said before sacking IVan I asked what he would do different (or something to that effect) and Ivan's response was that he wanted more involvement from Gus. I wonder if that is why Griffen was saying that Ivan would be a good fit?

Reading this thread, it’s no wonder Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon won

There are no winners in Clearygate, only losers.
Penrith have come out looking very bad
Gould is finally being shown what he is all about
Ivan’s integrity has take a massive hit
Hook has lost his job
WestsTigers are now faced with the call…do we really want a coach who wants out

What's he going to do? Suggest dud tactics for the next two seasons? I think it'll be fine if he stays. A part of me would welcome us waiting for Penrith to sign a new coach, release Ivan from his contract with us and see what happens. Gus might explode…

How do you even determine if a coach doesn’t want to be at a club. It’s not like a player and you can clearly see they are dogging it. A coach’s job is all internal. There’s nothing to show his heart isn’t in what he’s doing.

He could play Reynolds every game, That'd be enough

Based on the games he did play this year, why could you possibly want that? *END SARCASM*
