Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

So… "I intend to honour my contract" isn't unequivocal enough?

I dont like the word intend

Cleary's normal persona and body language has changed since this story broke, for a once unflapaable bloke, he is now edgy, uneasy and unwilling to answer the misleading stories he speaks of.
Why is this, he must realise how the public are seeing his integrity taking a hit, just clear up the misleading or untruths that have been written and said.
The whole club is taking a hit on and off the field, we need to fix this.

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story - Ivan may be experiencing this atm
The media are not selective who they go after - many a career has been victim to a good story. And we all feed off them.
Some will choose to believe it and others wont. But while ever people are discussing they will keep feeding it.

I have not heard nor seen the words you quoted of Ivan. Where does that come from, or are you paraphrasing?

He did say he would in his first video statement… If you go back a couple of pages I also shared the link.

Yeah, saw that post Barra and recall hearing words you quoted at the conference, being of present tense, not those quoted by Balmanian above, which is a definitive statement that would change my opinion on the situation and that is why I ask if it is real.

What exactly do you want him to say, as opposed to what he has said that doesnt agree with you?
I dont see what people are stressing about

Not sure who that’s directed at.
I don’t “want” him to say anything just be honest.

Have you considered the possibilty that he has been honest and it is the media who are dishonest?I have zero faith in news ltd/fox as they continually show they have no integrity

I'm not 100% sure.

But it might have something to do with the lead up of his son being up for negotiation plus the allegations have affected his family nathan and wife. Doesnt want to fuel the fire

If he says what I think he 'should' say it will leave doubt because it isn't what you think he 'should' say. In reality it doesn't matter what he says, or even less what you think he should say because there will always be someone who thinks he should say something altogether different. And then what he says, I.E. the words, convey only 20% of the meaning! His tone and his body language convey more. Erma gherd what fun we can have interpreting those.
Actions speak louder. Let's all see what he does before we start to piddle.

If Ivan did leave now after all the denials his creditability would be shattered, worth zero.
No one would believe another words that come out of his mouth if he back flipped.
From what I've seen he sounds like a pretty credible sort of person.

Yeah TYGA cheers but what was the guys body language like who gave you the drum..i mesn did his eyes go up and to the left…?

It was a director of another club who I have known a for years at the Dogs game yesterday. Very respected figure in the game. It’s what he believes. He was filthy at Panthers dirty tactics with the media. He told me everything leaked has come from the Panthers to destabilise our finals charge and make us less attractive to a certain young player.

This is on the money… Panthers had just sacked their coach and Wests were the only real danger to them making the finals.

Glad this is a forum, we have so many experts on body language here face to face some of them may perceive what I think of them.

The trouble with most on here is that they wouldnt have a clue how to read body language….they only percieve to read it however it suits the arguement...

Ivan appears to be irritated by the same questioning over and over by the media...he stated that he has a contract to fullfil at the WTs and intends to honour it..

Read it how you like ...as for not saying anything as soon as others wanted him to say about the situation is because the media personell at the WTs probably instructed him how to respond..after all it is an organisation that has been belted from pillar to post in recent years through the media and they need it to change...

In the end it remains up to Ivan what he decides to do,its his life and career....we are only supporters and members of the club...we can love it or leave it...THATS ENTIRELY OUR CHOICE...
\
\
My choice is to love it and whatever happens ....then it happens....and move on,it doesnt matter how we feel or think...life goes on..

For some people it isnt enough they still see it as a lie or evasion. The logic being applied by some bewilders me

There's no logic, just an awful lot of alfoil being bought from supermarkets.

Lol…. ^^ gotta be a gee up ^^

Why because you dont agree, sure thing

The media really suck some in

So because you disagree, I am sucked in, ever thought you may be sucked in

Its not because I agree or disagree…I see him as fed up with the media badgering.
Some are really buying into the media circus ... are never satisfied with a simple straightforward answer and youre seeing things that arent there :unamused:

sulking

carefully scripted answers

squirming in his chair

edgy

uneasy

unwilling to answer

.....please.....

And if tomorrow Ivan declares that he wants out from WT? Do you guys still bad mouth those who were concerned that he may have been leaving?

Or would you then turn on them and say it was their fault, their lack of faith turned Ivan away?

Hopefully he stays, I hope he does, I think he does, but it is hypocritical to pay out others for not agreeing with you. Implying they are crazy, less intelligent, all this rubbish.

Personally I think it all comes down to Nathan. Ivan will go where Nathan goes. But that's only a guess and whether you think I'm way off the mark or not doesn't say anything your or my intelligence/sanity/belief in media stories.

No misinformation in the media?
….......
Oh, except for both Clearys signed , sealed and delivered at the Roosters.
.........
Oh, and both Clearys signed, sealed and delivered at the Broncos.
..........
Oh, and now both will be at Penrith in 2019.
.........
They can't all be true...........

No one's doing this
