Yeah, just heard someone say that he heard someone say that he saw Jacksons dad Kev waiting at syd airport arrivals to pick up his son?
I have a very funny feeling about all this.

Kevin Hastings lives in the US

"I heard someone say that HE heard someone say" is probably my most favoured example of a "tenuous link".

To be fair, I think I got it wrong and Kev has moved back to Aus. I think the original post was a joke or a gee up.

Josh Reynolds getting man of the match in his 1st game tells you everything you need to know about the quality of super league

Do we still think Hastings is the answer?

He was man of the match for us in some of the few games he played.
Answer is still yes.

Man of Steel is often, but not always, an indicator of a quality footballer. Tigers have a rich history in the award, supplying 3 consecutive winners 2009-2011.

To the people that wanted to drop Brooks for Hastings after a bad start by the entire team; NRL is just too complicated for you. Maybe you should have a look at WWE.

I don't care if you want to win the comp, saying that players are garbage on a forum can only hurt your team. Hurting your team is selfish and petty and is contributing (in a small way) to keeping your team down.

Jackson....Hastings?

Having trouble with comprehension?
Reynolds was man of the match for us a few times in the limited games he played... but wasn’t the right type of player for our team.
Just because Brooks doesn’t throw us under the bus in one game doesn’t mean we should trust him to be able to do it all year.
Hastings at worst keeps pressure on him.

You’re using the same excuse we have been using for Brooks lol

So what type of half fits our team? It’s not Brooks obviously, Reynolds wasn’t the answer either

It’s Jackson Hastings?

A bloke who can kick the ball.

I think that Doehi is the perfect foil for Brooks and what's more has the temperament to settle Brooks much better than Hastings ever would. I think it's about a 25/1 chance on Hastings coming to Wests Tigers.

I hope you're right! Our kicking game yesterday was good, AD took the pressure off early then Brooks started chiming in with good kicks and no pressure. Looks good for the future, to me.

lol Hastings was the name thrown about. It could have been anyone half decent. The reasons people wanted Brooks dropped weren't about two games. People had rightfully questioned whether after 150 and zero top 8 placings he was the guy. Don't let facts get in the way of a win though!

Do you think DCE is better? How does he look without Turbo? The strike weapons make a half look good or bad. Brook's created many opportunities yesterday that were wasted by his team mates.

A half controlling the middle is doing a specific job. He decides if the team should attack up the middle or to get the ball wide to a playmaker or strike player on a side if see sees an advantage in numbers. He is not there to singlehandedly win the match.

Again, the Brooks bashing was not based on two games, it was based on 150. It was based on pre-season talk of him taking ownership. It was based on the seasons prior to 2018 and last season, where he either showed potential but was inconsistent or simply played ineffectively.

I've posted today about how good it was to see him bounce back. I want him to succeed even if I've lost faith in him. I called it earlier how he would have more try assists this year than Benji (not a huge sign of faith but something!). I think the majority would love for him to succeed but boy, we've been a patient bunch and I can understand why people have lost it.

For what it's worth I think DCE is trying too hard. He's a great player overplaying his hand atm.

So then what’s the point of a forum if you can’t critique a player? I didn’t see anyone personally attack Brooks, but in terms of his football skills why wouldn’t we be talking about what he is or isn’t doing. I wanted Brooks gone, but I much rather he succeed. If he can back it up and have multiple good games then why wouldnt we want him in our team. Let’s see if he can do it two weeks in a row.

Did we win or not ? Did he lay on 2 try assists and a couple line break assists ? The guy could win us 3 premierships and some like you would be critique him . He’s a good player , I hope he retires a tiger , and we finally win some footy games , with a team full of guys like him who love the club.

If Jackson Hastings is the answer to the question , then your asking the wrong question.

A stop gap is all he’d be if we somehow sign him. He’s not the answer.

Adrian Lam's defiant response to latest Jackson Hastings NRL speculation

Hastings has been linked with an immediate move to Wests Tigers, but Lam isn't interested in it.

Adrian Lam says Wigan are not concerned about the speculation surrounding Jackson Hastings' future with the former Man of Steel set to make his first appearance of the season this week.

Hastings could feature against Wakefield Trinity on Thursday after missing the opener against Leigh following his delayed return to the UK from a close-season break.

Former Wigan boss Michael Maguire, now in charge of Wests Tigers, has been linked with a move for the 2019 Man of Steel following Luke Brooks' poor start to the year.

But Lam expects the Aussie to stay until the end of this season, when his contract expires, and suggested a report based on **Maguire’s interest in the player was based on “old quotes”.**

Hastings has made no secret of his desire to one day play in the NRL while Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan admitted earlier this year that he expected him to leave at the end of the season.

When asked about his future, Lam said: “It’s the same as last week for us.

“He’s contracted to the end of the 2021 season, he's here, he's training well, he's loving it, we're enjoying his company, he's going to play a part in us being successful this year and as far as we're concerned, nothing’s changed.

“I don’t know when that report was quoted from. Was it actually last week or was it an old quote rehashed?

“Jackson Hastings is off-contract at the end of this year, so I guess him and his management group are going to speaking to whoever they want to.

"All we're in control of as a club is having him this year."

Lam all but confirmed Hastings would play against Wakefield, but didn't confirm where, with the 25-year-old potentially being considered to play hooker.

"That's an interesting one, isn't it?

"He'll be somewhere in the 17 and he'll potentially play both of those positions."
