I haven't followed Hastings over in the UK at all, but I have been very impressed with how well spoken he is in recent interviews - and how self-aware he is.

Sounds like a natural leader.

I find that players who do all these "Ive changed" articles generally don't work out that well. Packer, Idris, Scott etc come to mind.

I hope he doesn't do any more articles, just puts his head down and gets stuck into the pre-season. The way hes talking makes me feel that he thinks he's peaked.. his real challenge is only starting now. All he has done now (granted it must have been tough) is that he's come from being an outcast to proving he deserves another shot in the NRL. He has redeemed himself to an extent only.

well at least Hastings is saying the right things, he speaks well and has done well in the Super League(yes i know its not the NRL) but when you hear Brooks say nothing and when he speaks he mumbles and does not fill you with much confidence at all. Good Luck to Jackson, at least he has some passion and is giving me a little hope for the future.

About time we have a leader at halfback again brooks is a submissive player doesn't take the lead and doesn't talk Hastings takes the lead and constantly talks I think its pretty obvious Hastings should be 7 and brooks 6 starting next year

If we land a decent center, hopefully we entertain douehi back at 6, hastings at 7, shop brooks around.

Id offer Dylan walker a center spot if thats our only option personally id like to get Curtis scott but if we have no other options maybe leave it at 7 Hastings 6 brooks Ad 4 then move brooks end of the season

I have no issue with what he's saying. I'm sure he genuinely believes it all. But I'm always a bit hesitant about people who believe their own redemption stories.

He's definitely in a better place now than he was before he left but he hasn't achieved anything yet, he's only reached status quo in terms of NRL level. From his articles, it feels he thinks the worst is over when the true hard work is only starting now.

Maybe I'm just reading into it too much. I've just seen it happen a lot in this comp. Plenty of half redemption stories...
