Had 4 yrs in UK, made 3 grand finals and won a man of steel. I'd say he's a lot more qualified than a rookie who still wears a riff jersey on his day off or a prop whos played one season.

There is an old saying "Self praise is no recomendation".Hastings needs to think before speaking,i know it's a fluff piece but what people say in them will be used against them by detractors for years

Could just give the captaincy Brooks who struggles to string a sentence together on camera and offers little leadership or game icing ability on the field. Not saying Hastings is the logical choice as captain however he sure plays like a leader and isn't afraid to do the talking on and off the pitch.

It’s not logical. It’s actually illogical. Hasn’t done anything you have described at NRL level against the top sides.

Neither has anyone else in the squad except Tamou. Whether he's done it at NRL against top sides is irrelevant really, the fact is he has the qualities of a leader. He has captained the Combined Nations Allstars team which automatically makes him more qualified than 99% of the squad.

I know he’s not the messiah but why do you dislike him so much before he’s even played a game for the club.

I don’t like the hype. He’s being talked up to replace Tamou for crying out loud. The hype around him is out of control
