That's the risk you take. Rowdy suffered a one in a million injury all those years ago. Just pure bad luck. Back then he was one of the best centres in the game, similar to Teddy at fullback now.
There's also the other side of things too with letting them go. We've also had our fair share of where players move on and excel, Austin, Fifita, Koro, etc.
It's risk vs reward and unfortunately you can't predict the future, you can only deal the cards your dealt at the time and right now Teddy is our best player by a country mile.

On the Wests Tigers web site it says Tedesco since the start of 2015 has directly scored or assisted for 50 tries. Fifty !
I am happy to pay him 5mil over 5 years but I am sure he could get more elsewhere and then you can all come out of the closet and start call him names again.

Considering the talent Teddy has and already shown i'd be willing to take the risk, definitely. We need to build our side around this guy. TPA's will play a big part in keeping him here also.

Most recruitment or retention decisions are somewhat of a gamble (moreso with us than other clubs I think)

Tedesco could become Wests Tigers greatest player.
What ever it takes to keep him long term I am all for it.
We nearly lost him once to Canberra so that should be a warning.
Teddy is a player you can build a team around and brings people to the game.
I am so glad he has recovered from all his injuries and playing regular NRL.
Should secure our spine of Teddy, Moses, Brooks and Liddle long term.
Would like Liddle to be blooded in NRL this year once we are out of contention for a top 8 finish.

Here we go again does this club ever learn! I have no problem with paying Teddy huge money for a 3year contract but that is the length of contract.This will be another Farah/Lawrence scenario these lengthy and expensive contracts end in tears. Take Cherry-Evans has hardly played since the huge lengthy contract was signed and Manly fans are not happy and his contract has only just started.
Pay Teddy his million bucks a year for 3 years he is a great player but the club also has to be responsible have we not had enough of the crazy lengthy and expensive signings by previous administrations …no other club will give Teddy more than a 3 year contract so why should the Tigers ..this team needs a huge influxe of funds in other positions to move to the next level let's not put all our eggs in one basket because it will end in tears.

3 years is very reasonable IMO, if he is going well you can always enter negotiations early and extend the deal.

How many people are still sulking about Rowdy's deal? He was on track to be a regular Blue and Kangaroo. Copped an injury what a month after he signed the deal?
And you'll find that I was one of the few who backed him over the move to Canberra.

It has to be a moneyball approach but Tedesco is worth big dollars in a moneyball approach.
