James Tedesco Signs with Roosters [Official]

James is going to be a million a season signing , no use even trying to argue that point , clubs will be lined up around the block prepared to pay that type of money and possibly more

2nd point the TPA's will also be lined up around the block to be involved with one of the games superstars

3rd point we know he is prepared to leave if the money and conditions are right from another suitor , and the club would be silly to screw him around like they did 1st time around

Thank God Grant Mayer won't be involved this time around to almost lose us potentially our greatest ever Wests Tigers player

Happy, your second point is interesting. I was thinking about that very thing earlier and how, potentially, it would open the door for other TPA's to ensure he has a talented squad around him. Only problem is it might not be for WT.

This TPA really gets up my nose.
TPAs seemingly lead to the very uneven playing field that different clubs, in different degrees, can pay/attract players.
There needs to be some sort of equality here, maybe a cap on TPAs themselves.

The TPA situation will likely be different by the end of 2017 - the NRL are reviewing at the moment. Highly likely they'll be capped and regulated better in the near future.

I doubt they will cap TPA's because that means restricting players from earning additional income that they are entitled to earn

Capping club-associated TPAs - or regulating them properly.
Billy Slater can still have his Powerade ads, but they need to be completely separate from the playing contract.
Ideally the NRL would hold all the player contracts and pay the players centrally to stop all this utter garbage that the Eels have been caught doing.

Here we go again does this club ever learn! I have no problem with paying Teddy huge money for a 3year contract but that is the length of contract. This will be another Farah/Lawrence scenario these lengthy and expensive contracts end in tears. Take Cherry-Evans has hardly played since the huge lengthy contract was signed and Manly fans are not happy and his contract has only just started.
Pay Teddy his million bucks a year for 3 years he is a great player but the club also has to be responsible have we not had enough of the crazy lengthy and expensive signings by previous administrations …no other club will give Teddy more than a 3 year contract so why should the Tigers ..this team needs a huge influxe of funds in other positions to move to the next level let's not put all our eggs in one basket because it will end in tears.

I am, arguably the biggest Tedesco fan on this forum, ha ha, but I really think we have to keep things in perspective. Snake is right, we have him for another year already and if we extend him for three more years, it means we have him for four and a half more years. At the end of that period he will be, what - 27? That means we will have had him during his prime and if he's still paying well we can extend him again. There are too many areas of need in a football team to not leave room for other player deals. We have to learn and get the balance right. Anything could happen to him between now and 20121\. He is an absolutely brilliant player, a once in a life time player, but he is only one player and one player will not win a premiership for you, no matter how good they are.

Any one see the comment that Robbie made in paper on weekend that he will most likely not be here in 2017 to talk Teddy around

I hoe this gets ayoub deregistered and away from Tedesco before the negotiations.

Insiders have claimed the napkin TPA offer had been made by Mr Sharp at a Parramatta coffee shop during 2013 to Peats’ agent Sam Ayoub, before the star hooker had joined the Eels.

Just stumbled across it now, it was on zero tackle..
Wests Tigers will need ‘big money’ to keep Tedesco

Robbie Farah managed to talk James Tedesco out of leaving the Wests Tigers two years ago, convincing the now NSW fullback his next contract would dwarf what was on offer at Canberra.

It appears as though the hooker was right, with Farah admitting the Wests Tigers now face a battle to keep Tedesco at the club beyond 2017, given his value has sky-rocketed beyond $1 million a season.

“He’s off contract next year and I have no doubt there will be 15 other clubs trying to sign him and rightfully so,” Farah said. “They’ve got a battle to keep him. It’s going to be a big call for him about what he wants to do and I probably won’t be there. So I’ll stay out of it this time. I’ve done my work – it’s up to someone else.”

Farah stands by his decision to convince the man they call Teddy to renege on a deal with the Raiders and says his stance has been validated.

I watched that interview a couple of days ago pHyR3.

I was pretty surprised/pleased to hear the part about JT - Nofo seemed to suggest he is a good people manager which is something JT gets a lot of crap about. Really does seem like the majority like him.

Do you really believe, that any player who wants to stay in first grade would answer any question about the head Coach in any sort of negative way.
Some footballers are dumb, but not that dumb.
What they say about coaches cannot be believed, ( until they've retired, or at least changed clubs.
Of course everything's sweet and cosy!!!

Story in RLW about Teddy and his contract, has quotes, basically Teddy wants to know who the club is going to sign. Wants to win and play finals footy, made that clear, loves the club and wants to sign a 3 or 4 year deal, but wants answers first.
Depending on what side of the keep or punt JT you are on you could make an argument on his comments about the coach. He wants to know who is coaching in 2018, I want to sign a long term deal and I want to know what I am working with he said.
You could take that as he likes JT, or you could take it as he won't sign with JT there.
He never said he liked or disliked the coach, but it is clear what he wants, over to you Mr Pascoe.

So it appears we are going back to the days when players dictate to the club… Recall Farah did that and look where we ended up .... Hmmm

I don't think its that bad what he's asking. It's fair enough for players to want to know who will be coaching the club for the duration of their contract. It doesn't have to mean that he either supports or is against Taylor, he could simply want to know what the clubs plans are, for which he's entitled to ask.

Any player is entitled to ask any questions at all before signing a contract, it's sensible to get as much knowledge as possible, as to the direction that the club is going.
It's his Career , and players have to consider what influence a club will have on it.
I,d hate to see him go, but if he got a much better offer in from a regular top 4 club ,
He'd be nuts not to go,
It only a short time to earn top money, and he'll get no loyalty from any club once he's past his use by date

So Farahs contract & Teddys contract finish at the end of 2017 .
Farah is on $900k ?
Teddy probably on 400k ?
Give a large chunk of Farah's $ to Teddy , throw in a discounted Meriton apartment & it's as good as he'd get anywhere .

Teddy will get $1 million + anywhere he goes, so it's not really about money. He wants to know that the Tigers will have a good chance of playing finals regularly. If we make the 8 this year (along with keeping Broses) I think it'll go a long way towards keeping him here.

He'll have to sign before the halves cos he'll be the club's priority. It will probably be the other way around, the halves will stay if he re-signs.

They better find some wingers who can catch if they're any chance to play finals this year….

So, you know better than a current player about the inside running of the club. Don't believe a word that the player says, but believe everything that I say??

:crazy :crazy

Not necessary, we are one man team at the back
Teddy can be everywhere.

On a serious note, both Nofo and Kevvy can catch high balls
Their confidence is so shot leaking so many points on their side that neither have the confidence at the moment.
Both players are better defensively on the ground and under high balls but right now they are shot to pieces.

Unless their confidence builds they will finish 2016 in the same fashion – poorly (defensively anyway)
