James Tedesco Signs with Roosters [Official]

Well when it happens I hope we make a move on some of their players quickly

Absolutely. Latrell Mitchell is one I'd make a play for. Not much else I'd take from their backline though. Gordon for depth maybe. Would have taken Watson until we announced Reynolds.

Hopefully they're ready to part ways with Guerra. Need another decent second rower.

Can you please elaborate?

It seems roosters were able to sort out the TPA's and have lodged a new version of the contract with the NRL. Waiting to get the green light from NRL.

Once approved by the NRL does Tedesco then need to sign? Or has he already signed before Roosters put the contract to NRL for approval?

How does that work

Usually they sign then they lodge. For the most part clubs know the TPA rules. I haven't brushed up on them lately but it can't be more than $300k and one TP can't do multiple players I think? . Maybe someone can clarify that part for me.

So much for Uncie Nick not dealing with Moses.

Oh well, enjoy the $$$ Teddy. May you be cursed as Prince was and never win a premiership.

I think Watson has the potential to be a really good fullback. Has the creativity and running game. Not sure about his positional play.

He's currently playing there for Wyong.

Mitchell is contracted til 2020 so I don't think there's much chance of him going anywhere.

Yep no way they can hang onto all of that talent if they sign Teddy. We were able to get Reynolds so I have confidence that we can take our pick from the Roosters, just opens up more doors for us.

They may not have a choice now SG.

As much as I hate the roosters they have some money off contract in fego tupou guerra SKD etc.

Dogs on the other hand are struggling to prove to the NRL that they can be cap compliant for 2018 with woods and Foran contract. Doubt woods future will be sorted anytime soon. They need to move a lot of money off their books for 2018

Signed today, as already posted by SG. He has also waived the 10 day cooling off period. Once it's cleared by the NRL it will be up to the Roosters when they want to announce it.

Still haven't quite accepted Tedesco is going. I mean, I know he is so in a sense I've accepted the factual reality. But emotionally I think I'll still be devastated. We can win premierships without him for sure. The fact is though he is going to be in the top handful of players in his generation, and as a spectacle, there are few better players to watch. Haven't enjoyed watching someone in a Tigers jersey as much since early years Benji Marshall, and is going to take someone special to replace the excitement I feel when I watch Teddy at his best. Ah well.

Exactly how I feel.

Who's on suicide watch for Milky? When it's announced, I fully expect him to still say "Tedesco is staying."

Replacing him is the key recruitment decision for the club, I think Lolohea is a good gamble. Ivan can get the best out of him, he is supremely talented.

Agree… although different player to Teddy, more of a ball runner than ball player. If he can improve his support play, he will do well.
