James Tedesco Signs with Roosters [Official]

The plain and simple reality is that Tedesco had two choices:

1\. Lead us like a best player does. At 24, he could have turned into an Andrew Ettinghausen type leader who stayed with one club and lead us to finals footy for the next 8 years. Possibly got a premiership in there. Retired an absolute legend.

OR

2\. Take the easy option. Join the Rorters and basically 'slip in' to the role Minichello once had. Club is already full of leaders, thus no real responsibility. Win a comp there maybe, and be just another piece in their crooked machine. Don't win one or get injured and he will be shipped off as damaged goods as quickly as possible.

Ultimately, he took the easy option.

Yep he could've done that. He could've deferred a couple of years payments to help the club out
As welll….......Oops, I forgot , that didn't work out well the last time, did it .

You know what I really like about the Big 3 contracts is that the three clubs had to pay overs to get them and WT didn't. Now that is a turn-a-round right there.

Haha that is definitely what you call looking on the bright side Mike - I like it!

Ahh well never going to compete with the TPA power of the Broncos and Roosters, until there's transfer fees that reward clubs for player development.

Eeven when clubs like the Eels get caught now for rorting the cap, the NRL holds their hand through it and paves the way for them to be back in the game 6 months later buying more marquee players.

Not a system you can have a lot of faith in but it is what is and we are where we are. Hopefully we get more than some fading stars with the cash we have available now.

We could if the NRL would approve Uncle Harry to pay some TPAs, they say that he's too close to the club.
Well what about Nick isn't he pretty close to the Roosters?

Certainly a silver lining.

Woods is a good player don't get me wrong, but he's not winning you a premiership.

Only played great this season in round 1\. The rest of the time he's been a massive hog.

Will forget he ever played for us,after this season.

Shows yet again it's pointless to produce so many juniors, when the club/s doing the producing get no great reward.

Need to be more poachers.

Truth is Teddy has never played a 1st grade semi game for us,and we stuck by him during his injury times.

Good luck to him at the Roosters: Being a hog and/or injuried too much isn't put up with their, and the Roosters will try to boot him as soon as they can.

Do you expect him to get them to the Semis on his own do you ??
You also forget that he was behind the two most expensive failures in the history of the club, and possibly the game. At fullback it helps if your halves are at least moderately adequate

Also works with the Tigers being linked to just about every off contract player at the moment as clubs will now have to pay more to keep their stars such as Saints did with Widdop.

He could have signed a 2 year contract to see if the WT improved or then moved on if nothing changed.

Roosters have lost RTS,Jennings,Maloney to name a few over the last few years, but have proven that the show must go on..

We need to get over it and accept this is part of sport and move forward..

Absolutely agree. I loved Teddy and wanted him to stay. But seriously we offered him $1m to stay. FOr a player how has had the injuries to has had :crazy.

I truly believe we would be playing him to much money. If we could spend his money over 3 players say - Lolohea ($400), Hopoate ($400k) and Guerra ($430k) we are a far more balanced team.

Will will have a far better team next year

Why would we pay a guy who can't play Sundays for 400k??? he should go to the Broncos they play only on Friday and Thursday nights perfect fit I am sure they have about 4 million left in the Broncos news Limited salary cap too

haha Yes I'm assuming he will play Sundays! I'm sure the Broncos would have some room in the Sombrero

Roosters let Jennings and Maloney go. Not the same.

RTS is exactly the same as Tedesco and it cuts deep, Roosters were still cut about that until this morning.

I don't care how bad it sounds but a ACL after 5 mins of round 1 next year against souffs would be great for Tedesco a repeat of 2012\. so that the rorters fcan have 1 million to their cap for nothing

So based on your logic the Roosters fans should think the same about RTS,the Sharks supporters with Bird and even the Canberra supporters over losing Milford..
Such a sad way to think man

so. who cares about them. this is our turn to be angry. go away roosterman.

This place is getting closer to the level of the Kennel, and there not far from the Cess Pit.
Reynolds will feel completely at home here

Im not being smart, but our defence has been a shambles and he as a fullback is the director of the defensive unit.

Between the 4 of them, and the money they were asking which is in excess of 30% of the total cap, they should have, by all sensible reasoning, been able to deliver us at least consistant appearances in finals football. Not being able to do so has to factor into their actual value. By asking such a high pricetag is by default accepting a higher percentage of responsibility for the team performance.

He's a great player and possibly will be missed, but hey, we haven't made too many finals series of late with him in the team. One tree doesn't make a forest.

I think he will regret his decision in years to come.

For the 1st time in years I am starting to feel confident about the Tigers

He was a free agent and free to go where ever he wants and for what ever reason. If you have anger, direct at the NRL for allowing a club to buy a super star from another club who has developed this kid from u8s without having to pay any compensation or having any cap penalties, Its the system that stinks.

Also love to know how the Chooks can do it, 600 grand worth of TPA's plus a full salary cap would still be way short of the dollars required to roll out their roster. You have to ask the question, does the NRL really want to know

It is what it is…..

Welcome Aaron

Players leave, it sucks. Happens to many clubs.

Wishing serious injury on him is disgraceful, it's just a game after all.

We're all hurting, we've lost a very special talent. But we'll bounce back, we have a great coach, passionate fans and a clean slate to build something great.
