OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

Confused about this. Either it's an eye gouge or nothing.

I think even if he fights it, it's a bigger fine, not a suspension.

So may as well fight it. You don't want priors.
In all my days, a charge of eye gouging starts with the victim player making a report to the ref, who then asks "Are you sure you want to go on with this?" and then it's referred directly to the judiciary.

This time, no whinge from the Qld player, no on field dramatics and Luai facing a charge of generic Contrary Conduct.

That's about all this is, a careless act.
Still the way things go, Luai is lucky that he didn't spend 10 mins in the bin.

Everyone keeps writing Parra off now that Moses is injured, however I actually think the main improvement for them was when Dylan Walker joined. As soon as he comes on, they start playing much more direct and look threatening in attack.
Dylan Walker improves that team.

Moses out makes them significantly worse.

I don't think Dylan Walker drives them to a finals berth. Not with the Raiders, Storm, Broncos & Warriors still in their future.

I'm hoping they don't make finals and they probably won't, even with Moses fit. I do however believe that a larger percent of their improvement came when Walker joined....maybe I just hate moses so much I want to play his impact down.

I hate to say it, but I don't think the likes of the Bulldogs, Raiders or Storm lose too many more games from here.

In a condensed comp, it's no surprise a lot of the middling teams play each other leading into the finals now. I don't see how playing desperate games without their best player helps them.

Panthers & Dolphins are hitting a nice form patch at the right time- but they will need to keep it going. Shooting too early is a problem...

I see a world where the Tigers are in this. I expect the Raiders to be....tough. But after that, there is a bunch of games where I think a decent run of form gets us close if we finish strong. That game against the Bulldogs, and the 4 games that follow...that's where we need to hit our peak. We probably need to split games at worst between now & then.

I'm expecting that the Bulldogs start to fade, their game is based on high energy and second phase play. It's very hard to maintain that for a whole season. They were not that great against Parramatta, it also looks like Critta is nursing and injury as will be the case with a few of their players. Having said that they have probably already done enough to finish top 4. So perhaps a tapering off may actually benefit them in the finals. In terms of the Tigers, I feel like we just need to click, it's not helpful that Latu is not in firsts playing 80, however I have high hopes that if he can get match fit and stay healthy than that combination with Luai will unlock our attack and help shore up our right side defence.

The way I saw it Cotter pushed his head and then Luai put his hand on his face. Shouldn't Cotter also be charged then?

I'm not asking this because he plays for us, genuinely not sure why he was fined and penalised if it wasn't an eye gouge?

Tino, Patty etc did like 3 facials in SOO 1 and they weren't fined

Yeah unfortunately that was my thoughts looking at the ladder earlier

@The Chad i doubt manly get in...even tho i thought theynwere top 4 stuff in Feb...who could foresee the drama that has plagues them this year...great ay
So right, like we've had so many times where player disruptions have ruined our season, eg injuries, or the Mitch Moses/Galvout episodes, and it's so good that it's happening to others - like Cherrry Evans at Manly, and now Mitch Moses long term injury at Parra etc etc
