Can anyone shed light on why Cayless is getting limited minutes. Some say it is his form, but how can you work your way into good form if you can't get on the field.

Why give an out of form player more minutes…when he's on the field he is a liability to the team!..NSW CUP is where he should be to find form and hunger to play FG again!

well i for one never expected him to be a force straight away, give him time i think come round 7-8 we will start seeing some good work from jason, IMO for the time he got on the field friday, he did good

Ron we agree for a change. Jason looked to be finding his feet on Friday and made a couple of decent charges for his time on the field.

Skinny isnt the issue…..its the fact that for how skinny he is he is slow and cant seem to move laterally. Skinny is okay if you have speed and agility

With the lack of football he's played over the last couple of years, and being a front rower, it was always going to take Cayless some time to get his confidence and form up. I recall someone saying he was probably the least fit of all the Tigers at the commencement of pre-season training, plus he had some minor cleanup surgery on his knee in January.

He looks too lean at the moment, but he's very tall and I'm sure if Folkes wanted him to put on a couple of kilos, Cayless would not have too much trouble doing so. However speed and agility are my two biggest concerns about Cayless at the moment.

I think he would be better served building up his match fitness in State Cup at the moment. He's only getting around 20 minutes per game which won't get him match fit in a hurry and I think Junior Moors offers more at this stage, but ideally he's better off being used as a wide running second rower than a straight-up-the-middle prop.

I guess it's also a testament to Folkes to have the Tigers so fit as Sheens can afford to give Galloway and Gibbs more gametime. The return of Payten and strong debut of Fifita also helps the team as far as size goes.

I have stated in other threads that I think he needs to have a run in State Cup but now Im starting to think with Gibbs and KG playing so many minutes we can afford to have him on the bench and playing 20-30 mins per game. This will help to get his match fitness up, build his confidence and get him used to the speed of NRL again. Let's face it if he isn't overly fit then he is going to get that anymore in State Cup than he will in FG, at least in FG he can build on the other aspects I mentioned.

The only problem with keeping him is that we need a better balance on the bench to cover for this and that means droppng Fitzhenry. Im sure we all agree that Flannagan is a fantastic footballer and from what I have seen of his skill set he will more than cover that utility role if injury strikes. This way Cayless can get up to speed in FG and we aren't going to be hindered too much. I agree with Ron on this and think round 7-8 will be when we start to see the best from him but he needs to stay in the FG side to do this.

well that will do me!!!!!!!

also mate i notice that you are overseas and you probably dont see the games ill give you this website that shows all the footy games live as if you were watching them on fox, check your pm box and ill post a link for you in there, its my secret site that gives me access to all kinds of live sporting events

If the experts say he needs 6 or 7 weeks or round 7/8 then it should be in reggies, NRL is no place for passengers which is what he is currently

Thanks mate. Will have a look at it. There is a few pubs in Beijing that show the game so I do try and get to see them when my schedule permits. I also manage to obtain non-live versions of the game of course.

Dont necessarily disagree Ink. But I do think its a bit harsh to call him a passenger. From my perspective, he has been steadily improving every week. I wouldnt be opposed to letting him have time in reggies though.

i disagree, if he is an integral part of the team for this year then 30mins in FG is better then 50mins in reggies he hasnt been spectacular but he hasnt been devastatingly bad either, problem is fitzy on the bench total waste hes played a total of 8 minutes when been picked on the bench for 2 games this year

He hasn't hit top form but he is yet to be exposed defensively. I would play Moors as he has performed better then Cayless but I dare say Sheens is giving the nod to experience.
