I do hope they have a pathway plan mapped out for Shane. He's by far & away our most successful pathways coach. Maybe into NSW Cup program or a NRL transition assistant coach would be a good next step.

Would like him to become our KOE cup next season, would be great value for flegg players this year that will be in Koe cup next season.

Disappointed Huth got the fullback gig in front of Oitmann but things can change on game day.

Thought I’d do a bit of a write up about a few players in our Flegg squad to look out for that haven’t featured yet.

Jack Biles (second row)
Named on the bench for our Round 9 clash this weekend. Played in the NRLQ U20 competition last year for the Dolphins. Played Mal Meninga Cup (U19) at the CQ Capras and Norths Devils in QLD. Went to The Cathedral College in Rockhampton, QLD.

Samson Tuqiri (winger)
Son of club legend Lote, Tuqiri has played for the ACT Brumbies U20 and U19 teams in previous years. Also played some league for the Brisbane Tigers junior rep teams in 2021 and 2023. Went to Brisbane Boys College in QLD.

James Marriott (halfback)
Played some Jersey Flegg U21 at the NZ Warriors last year. Played his junior reps at the Sunshine Coast Falcons in the QLD U19 Mal Meninga Cup. Went to Unity College in Caloundra, QLD

Risiate Smythe (lock)
A strong, skillful lock, Smythe won the 2024 SG Ball Cup with the Dragons. He played SG Ball for the Dragons again in 2025 before playing 4 games of Jersey Flegg later that year. Went to Endeavour Sports High in NSW.

Matt Aitchison (prop)
Has been a part of the system for a while now with the Balmain SG Ball team in 2025 and 2024 and Harold Matts in 2023. He has been playing Sydney Shield for the Ryde Eastwood Hawks. Went to Hills Sports High in NSW.
