OFFICIAL Jordan Miller #289

What I liked from his debut- his head was swiveling in the tackle, looking for a support runner. Didn't get an offload- but was looking for it.

Once he learns more nuance, I see a ball player at the line.

If a few guys were pressing on my stomach I'd be swivelling also...

He didn't look lazy in the match, he looked like a big kid whose body was still growing and maturing. I don't know if the puppy fat is a lack of conditioning or effort, it's just his natural build right now. Comparing him to a Sam Fainu who is almost the same age but a totally different physique.
Well if we are being honest, Sam Fainu has a physique any good young rugby league player should have.

According to @jrtiger & the boys on WTF Podcast he had a shocker on the weekend & gave Shannon Gallant some lip for trying to rev him up. Sounds like his NRL debut has gotten to his head. You're not the man just yet kid.

He’s 19 FFS with a big body to grow into and needs to build fitness to get lateral movement at first grade standard . Clearly a work in progress with potential to be one of the games best forwards to those with an an ounce of patience. 2026ish with stints till then.
I agree with you and no doubt do a few of the more powerful clubs who hope to have input into his development while he serves his apprenticeship at WTs😁

Unfortunately many young blokes get this attitude when they have some success no matter how minor, hopefully he realizes that the comments are there to help him in his future career as a player.Sadly some do and some don't

Tal & Kit mentioned they were a bit like that earlier in the season but both came to their senses. Hope young Jordan can do the same.

Of what I have seen of Miller he is a massive work in progress that is probably less the 50% chance to succeed. Not having a go at him, but over the years have seen plenty like him come up from stardom in the juniors, to falling flat in the big time. He will need good people in his corner pushing and encouraging him

Tough call on 18 mins of NRL playing time at age 19…

Give him another two off-seasons to fully grow into his body and drop the baby fat …and lets see what they have in 2026

The biggest motivator needs to be himself

I have said this a thousand times ....Some of the kids that excel at their age group automatically think their destined for the big time, unfortunately big hits from the seasoned NRL players and immaturity on the kids behalf leave them floundering on what may have been, they lose confidence, their skillset diminishes and they are left in tatters because they thought they had it all...REALITY hits hard sometimes...
What they need is a sensible mentor that treats them like adults but understands they are still KIDS,it happens all the time in other sports, they need to DEVELOP into NRL standard,it doesnt happen overnight...
More fool the kid that thinks he is home and hosed because he was great in his age group...

Didnt Groat have huge wraps and then didn't pan out?

Fataape should have been binned for not passing him the ball from the kick off to the 2nd half. Kid was steaming in off the back fence.
It's always a risky play.
Yes you want them to throw it, but that first tackle from the kick... You really don't want to give an intercept or loose the ball...

We need to complete our sets and drive it down field. I don't blame Faatape for not passing and hope we play it a little more safe.

What’s Faatape’s win record this season in first grade? I like the little things he dies in a game, I rephrased getting better!
