Josh Aloiai #190

I think this is a great re-signing. He plays tough and will only get better as he adapts to the grind of first grade football.

only till 2017 though….are the WT planning on being around beyond 2017....so far we have no roster for 2018....

:deadhorse: Sick of developing players.
Wasted money.
Not quite a plodder but offers very little.
Keep signing 20 year olds and we'll own the bottom quarter of the table for years to come.

I wonder if this is an effort to help our second tier issues (detailed here: http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/secondtier-salary-cap-woes-prevent-wests-tigers-coach-jason-taylor-wielding-axe-20160427-gog61p.html)

If we upgraded him enough, he'd move into our top 25, thus helping the apparent drain on the second tier.

The next generation Bryce Gibbs, good for 3 penalties on the 4th tackle every game, 3 errors coming out of our end every game and pulls off 3 good tackles every game so he gets a pass. And the mediocrity cringe that is the West Tigers rolls on.

100% agree mate. All I've seen from him are penalties and dropped balls

Not according to that article, and given it reads like a Tigers PR release, I'd be inclined to believe it.

The salary cap, and how it works is hard enough to explain face to face, neverlone in this format on a forum, though in the thread started about the article you quoted, I will try help you wrap your head around it a bit better if you want.

Fair enough - the salary cap is a dogs breakfast at the best of times.
That said, if what you're saying is true, then the club is having a bit of a lend by briefing the SMH half-truths.

Good on you Josh - happy for you to be with us for another year.

Keep the head down and bum up and I am sure you will do us (even the Mr Negatives on here) all proud.

i have not been impressed with josh at all he never breaks the line and his defence is o.k at best, really he is a NSW cup player. solid player but i doubt he will make a very good 1st grader.

See what you get for having an opinion BP… 2 Negatives. 😕
I might not agree with you, but I'm giving you a thumbs up for stating your opinion.

all i will say is watch the other 7 games this weekend and see how the better backrowers preform and then compare it to joshs game, if people cannot see what i mean then they have no football sence.

I reckon Josh is another prop. Halatau and Lawrence are the best and only wide running backrowers that we have.

Jesse Parahi could have developed into that style of backrower.

And neither of them has a pass or offload in them, welcome to the Tigers

Thought he went well in the trials, but to be honest I've been pretty disappointed in what I've seen, adds no impact what so ever when he comes on also has a silly penalty in him and an error at crucial times. 1yr extension is a good move by the club, hope he improves but not many do in this club.
