This is what annoys me so much about the media targeting the Tigers. Players get forced out of their clubs all the time, but it will be little more than a grumble. When it happens at the Tigers it is hyped up to be the end of the world. e.g. Matt Ballin being forced out of Manly was probably worse than the way Farah was treated, but when you compare the size of the media storms you would think Ballin left on good terms.

Every year we see the same thing, the Media witch hunt for something at the Tigers. 2013 it was Benji, 2014 is was Potter, 2015 they couldn't make up their minds between Taylor and Farah, 2016 they stuck with Farah. So who will it be this year?
Depending on results, 2017 will likely be Taylor or Moses. If we are losing then "Taylor is losing the dressing room" or some other s***. If we are winning then I guarantee some bs article will come out that Moses was responsible for Farah sacking, or him and Brooks are having a lovers quarrel and now they don't want to re-sign.

Unless the media have quotes and hard facts I wouldn't believe anything they say

Our club is definitely a favoured target of the media's. There are multiple agendas working against us and unfortunately we don't have to many allies in League Central or at the big media houses. News Limited will kick us in the guts at every opportunity because they want Go gone from the board. They've become more subtle since she accused Buzz of bullying but I think there is still bad blood there. Siro senior is the good mate of many media darlings so showing Curtis the door haven't endeared us to 2GB or Fox. Speaking of Fox, Blocker has his own agenda. Weather it be support for Siro or a lack of love and respect from the current administration he doesn't miss us when he wants to bag somebody. I think the demise of Balmain has also upset some media types who were more fond of them over Western Suburbs. Some have never been accepting of the JV and Paul Kent openly says we should be the first team gone out of Sydney (dickhead!).

All that said, I don't think we should allow the media to dictate the direction of our club so I'm happy to put up with their one sided reporting as long as we are improving on and off the field.

This was in the Tele article this morning Happy. I know because it is not favourable to WTs it can be put aside as another Tele attempt to paint WTs in a bad light or, Plan B, it can be blamed on Sam Ayoub! Oh someone has already attempted to do this earlier.

Sounds eerily like another scenario where the club has tried to organise for a player to go elsewhere. Kept it behind closed doors so the player could negotiate in secret and then when things didn't go their way they went to the media. They have the same player manager too, hmmm…

It's no secret that Ayoub is a grub, his involvement in match fixing is testament to that.

FYI: I'm actually disappointed that the club is moving Lovett on, I thought he was a big improver last year and might just be a late blossom. If he is on the sort of money that is touted though, whomever offered that coin should be shot.

Someone might have a better memory than I , but didn't we release Liam Ayoub ??

Could this be the source of Sammi's anger

Liam Ayoub..I remember him played in the halves for out U20's…we were the only team to give him a shot...and only cause of who his father was...

Might have gone to Penrith after , memory not helping at the moment

Yeah I think it's individuals who have different approaches to different clubs. I wouldn't say entire organisations.

James Hooper has usually been fairly straight with reporting Tigers news I've felt, and guys like Lurker or RLW don't usually have that much Tigers gossip that isn't elsewhere. Some commentators like Warren Smith and that fellow from Fox Sports Christian Jantzen (I think he's at sportsbet now) are known Tigers supporters. Joel Caine obviously played for the club and doesn't appear to have an agenda as a caller, more of an analyst type.

The analysts seem to be quite fair - can't say Sterlo or Phil Gould put the boot in. Gould in fact always seems to have a soft spot for the way the Tigers play, and certain cult players like Big Keithy. Brandy Alexander similarly.

The guys you really have to watch tend to be the "insider info" journalists who do not post under pseudonyms - Paul Kent, Danny Weedler, Roy Masters, Michael Chammas. These guys are mainly about breaking stories and don't mind being controversial or treading on toes to maximise their coverage.

And then there are the 'journos' that mix with colourful identities and are clearly in their back pocket. Its the same old tired hack names that keep digging because they are the colourful identity's b!tch.

According to an article in Todays Tele coach JT is qouted as saying that Kyle isn't going anywhere, the article mentioned a game between the ARU Sevens side and the Tigers, I want to know who won?.

Not sure who won but apparently Teddy annihilated them.

Naiqama ripped it up…

I wonder if having an extra 1st grader in idris will light a rocket under the blocked he could replace, like Kev, and indeed Kyle himself. Jammal would have to be a shot at second row if there wasn't a spot for him at centre for any reason. Personally I think our second row is so poor on paper that I'd be tempted to use him as an edge backrower, and hence wouldn't be able to find a spot for Lovett as I would have Lawrence as the bench forward who can cover centre in a pinch.

What does the Gossip thread and the Kyle Lovett thread have to do with each other Sabre ??

Not sure. Just picked a random thread to ask.
Makes more sense than asking in the "Unfiltered: Chris Lawrence" thread though I guess.
