This is what annoys me so much about the media targeting the Tigers. Players get forced out of their clubs all the time, but it will be little more than a grumble. When it happens at the Tigers it is hyped up to be the end of the world. e.g. Matt Ballin being forced out of Manly was probably worse than the way Farah was treated, but when you compare the size of the media storms you would think Ballin left on good terms.
Every year we see the same thing, the Media witch hunt for something at the Tigers. 2013 it was Benji, 2014 is was Potter, 2015 they couldn't make up their minds between Taylor and Farah, 2016 they stuck with Farah. So who will it be this year?
Depending on results, 2017 will likely be Taylor or Moses. If we are losing then "Taylor is losing the dressing room" or some other s***. If we are winning then I guarantee some bs article will come out that Moses was responsible for Farah sacking, or him and Brooks are having a lovers quarrel and now they don't want to re-sign.
Unless the media have quotes and hard facts I wouldn't believe anything they say
Our club is definitely a favoured target of the media's. There are multiple agendas working against us and unfortunately we don't have to many allies in League Central or at the big media houses. News Limited will kick us in the guts at every opportunity because they want Go gone from the board. They've become more subtle since she accused Buzz of bullying but I think there is still bad blood there. Siro senior is the good mate of many media darlings so showing Curtis the door haven't endeared us to 2GB or Fox. Speaking of Fox, Blocker has his own agenda. Weather it be support for Siro or a lack of love and respect from the current administration he doesn't miss us when he wants to bag somebody. I think the demise of Balmain has also upset some media types who were more fond of them over Western Suburbs. Some have never been accepting of the JV and Paul Kent openly says we should be the first team gone out of Sydney (dickhead!).
All that said, I don't think we should allow the media to dictate the direction of our club so I'm happy to put up with their one sided reporting as long as we are improving on and off the field.
