OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Galvin knows he will end up in the lock or second row position in time maybe in 2 years time who knows. But for him to play in that position he needs to stack on at least 10kgs to his frame and currently that is not going to happen. Latu needs time in the half of 5/8 position leave him there in reserve grade where he can learn and develop his game.

Both Latu and Lachlan need more work on their individual games and this comes with experience.
Send Galvin around to my place , I will show him how to put on 10kg , Saturday down the pub , big bbq on sundays and coffee and biscuits after dinner during the week , it won’t take long , I think I can get him there in a month 🤔🥴😜

Am I the only one who is more interested in Talyn being resigned first? To me the 9,7 and 1 are more important then a 5/8th. Bula,Jerome are sweet but API has only two years and we need our number 9 sorted after that. Happy for Galvin to stay of course but not at the expense of the 1 and 9. 5/8ths are a dime a dozen. We don't want to be like the Sea Eagles or Newcastle where they put all the money on two players and don't have the salary cap to get a team that gets higher than 5th spot.

Interesting times and Richardson has done a great job but a few things need to be done.

- Backrow depth.
- Resign Tallyn
- Resign Douhie (His goalkiciking isn't bad)
- Find a 2nd rower.
- another front rowers
- Taylan may signs probably for 500k.
- Upgrade Galvin and Talyn for next two years.
- need to get Sullivan to not come back.

If we lose Galvin and get these other parts done then so be it. A great spine is only as good as it's forward pack. Can't lessen them to overlay a player that hasn't done alot yet.

Where we are now compared to when we were under the last leadership is chalk and cheese. This team is a 6-10 spot team. We just need quite alot more things to go out way to get to the 1-6 spot team.

I'm hoping we retain him, great for recruitment and i think he has a fair bit of.improvement in him....but other than recruitment his retention would send an even stronger message to the rest of the comp that we aren't just making up numbers, along with our (hopefully consistent) new defensive football we are a serious outfit now with Richo leading the way...no more pension contracts...no more 'we develop em you benefit from em' type scenarios
His retention would make the rest of the NRL sit up and take notice

Did you see the post Dolphins game Terrell Davis VLOG when a bunch of the team went to a Burger joint for a snack? I gotta say it was borderline hamburger abuse! Galvin didn't go and despite being part of the opening scene he seemed pretty miffed by the Vlog showing he and TDS sharing a room!

We’ve already got another quality young 9 coming through behind DaSilva but, yes, he should be locked up.
As for 5/8ths being a dime a dozen?
I suppose someone once said that about Lewis, Kenny and their ilk.
The good ones are worth their weight in gold …. Galvin may not be near those guys as yet but he is a priority.

Supply and demand along with potential will see Galvin close to a 7 figure deal. Move here is to front load and increase as we can up the payments this year and next. We can pay more whilst keeping cap number lower.
Yep, The WTs have the best opportunity because he is on low $ now. If he isn’t signed long term this year. We wont have as bigger advantage

is the kid really worth a mega deal, surely, we can squeeze him for a couple of hundred. Everything has played into his hands of late .DCE ,Dylan Brown, the new teams starting up. If anyone throws a spanner into the works ,i hope it's his parents. People say Izzac is stirring the pot, want Mum n Dad to leverage that gamesmanship, and cut ties. Good luck carrying Brookes. I doubt whether he could hide in any other team but ours- hasn't earned it yet. Allways something around the corner no point betting the farm on him

Yep don’t get me wrong I really want to keep him but not on more than a 5 year deal. First year at 700k and performance based increases

If we make the top 8, top 4

I would stay away from an Origin clause. Cleary has that 7 nailed for the next 10 yrs and his competition for the 5/8 spot would be within his own home (Luai)

I had been thing this way as well. It’s like the Storm era of Smith, Cronk and Slater. However after rewatching the Dolphins game I think we lose that game if Galvin doesn’t play.
His fitness is next level. he was everywhere. In attack he was creating numbers and plugging holes if we were short on a side. I don’t think he is a normal 5/8. He is like the drummer in a band keeping the team going.

Halfback a are the hard ones to find. 5/8ths are more prevalent. You can create one from a fullback or centre. You can't create a controlling halfback on the spot.

Now here is a happy band of men displaying what team work is all about, watch them step it right up when they get to attack speed and beyond, and yes, fitness is of paramount importance in these situations.

The MacArthur Weststigers are in the Laurie Daly GF today vs The Dragons, around 1.30pm.

Here's a fun fact -- Lachlan Galvin's younger brother Thomas is in the side on the bench No. 17 in the photo below. He looks a runt doesn't he? Here is a picture of him receiving his jersey from LG - he is 3 inches taller than LG who is 6 3 in the old language. Just another skinny beanpole eh? Maybe he becomes leverage in retaining the Galvinator?

There is a 100 ways any club that signed him on Nov 1 could bump up his 2026 earnings. Okay they might be illegal but Iam sure a team like the Chooks could find away. The fact that we have him tied up for 2026 is a slight advantage as most clubs don’t look far beyond one season as they are chasing instant results

Any idea what position his brother plays?

His manager is attempting to inflate his next contract which will not come into force for 2 years. Galvin has said he has left contract matters in the hands of his manager. Believe him when he tells you this and remember Galvin is not a kid, he is 19.
Alas paws this seems to be the way it's heading so if he has no interest in extending now save dollars by leaving him on his modest contract he has at present.
If he won't accept a fair contract to keep us a chance of pushing for a premiership down the road we may have to switch to the Latu option.
If he is getting =>1.3M offers I can't see how we can match that and remain a chance of pushing for a premiership it will affect the quality of players around him.
