Yet, we need to think differently. Easts for some bizarre reason has a stack of loyality from their players, Why? I mean seriously they have thrown good players to the wind so many times before. Angus C was almost going to be thrown out of there.

Somehow Easts, Manly and a few other clubs have built a culture where players want to stay. We need to do the same, yes winning would help, but there is clearly something else with Easts.

From an outsider looking in, Roosters are the celebrity club in Sydney. They are the glamour club who are seen as the coolest among the influencers and socialites. I’m sure their players receive lots of invites to major events outside of footy. They get lots of offers for third parties and sponsorship deals and job offers post career due to their public status.
To be a member of the money and fame factory like that, you have to perform on the field. They have no shortage of people wanting in so you become an expendable commodity. I’m not convinced their players love the game like guys from other setups, moreso, they see it as the vehicle that can deliver them a comfortable and exciting life. Be great at RL, become a big name in this club, set yourself up for life.
Broncos operate the same way.

Isn’t Chammas a Moses mouthpiece ( I believe they went to school together ) so I’d say correct. And bedsides, how could a 19 yo cope with what he’d cop in going back.

Yet another Galvin artcile today this time by Weedler, stating how poor Lachie will miss out on being selected for Origin 2 camp so he can get a taste of what his future rep environment will be like....Sheez the grovelling by this guy is incredible....such a scum of a reporter.....

Seriouis question: If there were a competition for the most written up NRL player in 2024 -2025 Galvin would win hands down by the length of the straight....

In what fkn world would Galvin be called up into origin 2 camp?

Of course not. You set the parameter of not coming last. I think both spoons were avoidable with better coaching, given the roster.
Ivan is a victim of his own success. You can’t lose great players year on year on year and still perform without it catching up to you. Additionally those who remain have played a lot more footy in the past 5 years than most guys in the NRL. They are weary and starting to breakdown. The next man up philosophy is still working, however that cupboard is also getting bare as great young backups have been forced out over the years, again due to the success of the club. All these factors weigh heavy and motivation/desire seems to be the area where they are suffering in.
Ivan is an excellent coach and I have no doubt he has identified this year as a rebuild. It’s likely Penrith will work in a cycle like the Roosters do I.e. a string of great years then an off year or two to recompose themselves before storming back.
I’ll put it to you…if the salary cap wasn’t an issue like several other big global sports, how long would this dynasty have lasted? You could put a team together of players forced out of that club over the past 4 years who would beat their current lineup. That’s a crazy situation that us Tigers supporters have never and likely will never experience. Trying to compare Cleary to Marshal is frankly a ridiculous thing to do.

The real should be,What if Benji had the exact roster that Cleary has had throughout Penrith's domination , would the results be the same 🤔 most likely not definitely..

Yeah i saw that - poor kid has been so under developed at the tigers that he is already in the frame as a future blue. The irony. Saw another report about why dogs did an about turn and decided to sign him. This one was from Riccio - reckons dogs went off Sexton in Canberra game because he couldn't close out a set with a repeat set on 2 occasions. Yet somehow they believe the kid can - lol - they obviously haven't been watching his games too closely.
This kid will be an Immortal before he is 22 the way the media overhype him.

This is the joke about the whole sorry saga - other young players who are students of the game and watch him and then see all the hype around the club has held him back from developing - must be confused.
He is way ahead of where he should be based on media propaganda and any fan who watches can see it - not sure about the Galvins

In fairness, last year he really didn't have the cattle, nor the year before if you want to blame 2023 on Benji too.

I just don't know who you think would have squeezed more than the wooden spoon out of the players we had in 2023 and 2024.

The 23 wooden spoon I blame mostly Sheens for us getting that one then I do Benji (although some criticism will go to both Benji and Farah since they were on the coaching staff). But I do think Sheens did a very poor job in coaching us for 2023 given the roster we had. The 2024 spoon does go to Benji but 2022 and 2023 I give to Sheens, he screwed us in 22 sacking Madge and appointing Kimmorley to take over that ultimately sealed it and 23 showed his best coaching days are passed it. If Benji does not have a great 2025 the question will be asked to keep him on, problem is though the cupboard is bare in terms of a good coach who’s available to replace him.
