OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277

Honestly surprised at the players reaction but I love it

It shows the playing group are all buying into Benji - except for Galvin

If Galvin just said it's about money no one probably would've cared, but coming out and rubbishing the coach doesn't sit will either the boys
Not only rubbished coach but also the attack on Luai. What a snotty little brat. Huge ego inflated no doubt by parents and manager. The next few months will be interesting as I see the squad gelling around Benji and Galvin being very much on the outside.

Reserve grade or nothing for me.

Richo and probably Benji are pushing the "we only want players who want to play for the Tigers" and fair enough, so reserve grade or even nothing for Galvin

Is it in the rules, to ask a club to give us money so they can have him now, bit like the transfer system in European soccer?

I realise not everyone on here has been a supporter of Benji and he is only a couple of losses away from copping it again but kind of feel gutted for him ATM - after backing Galvin.

To have him publically made the reason why Galvin wanted out is a low blow and who ever decided to go down that path is lowlife piece sh*/t.
Benji is held in high regard in NRL circles whether he makes it as a coach or not, and the Galvins may look back at this action one day and realise that they will be remembered for that before Lachy achieved anything.

What the hell are you talking about? Wait until November when they know he won't sign?

He's being dropped because he's disrespected YOUR head coach, YOUR players, and YOUR club, not because he doesn't want to sign. This is different to Luai, Turuva, and even Dylan Brown. They didn't go about this sticking the middle finger up at their incumbent club at the time.
He may have said that behind closed door

But I would like to know who leaked it , was it galvins camp or the tigers? As that changes how I feel

But given tigers camp willing to divulge the players don’t want him in the team and why he is being dropped , not far fetched they were the leaks. Especially given that him not signing got leaked the day Richo went to the board not Thursday when they rejected the offer

If the manager said it to the tigers CEO, then who cares where it came from. It was communicated as the reason he wants to leave so the tigers are able to share that publicly imo.

CODE now reports that Galvin’s axing came after a player mutiny, with Phil Rothfield writing: “On Monday night the Wests Tigers leadership group, that included Jarome Luai and Api Koroisau, fronted coach Benji Marshall and said they didn’t want Galvin in the team.”

Frustrated Wests Tigers players reportedly may want Galvin released from the club early and potential long-term half Latu Fainu (currently injured) brought into the side permanently, earlier reports said, to put the team and its future first; especially given Galvin’s apparent lack of faith in coach Benji Marshall.

Premiership winning players like Api & Jarome, classy professionals, ultimate team players
... when they don't want you in the team, that's a wake up call. You are the problem.

Maybe Mitch Moses will tolerate this type of garbage but we aren't about that at the Tigers.
This could be a massive problem for Galvin. Guys like Benji, Luai, Koroisau, Fainus etc have a lot of friends at the clubs he’s linked to. I can’t see Chricton at the dogs or Olakau’atu/Koula/Saab etc having a high opinion of him after all this. Would those guys want Galvin at their club after he’s disrespected his coach and some of their closest mates?

All the more reason to keep him here... A few accidents at training with an elbow to the face... Sorry bro my bad.
OK mtd#2 I'll call it early. You are going to be correct and I'm going to be wrong in my opinion that Galvin was certain to be selected in the top side today. So, fair play to you. My reason for thinking he'd be selected was that we were in front in the PR game after our media release yesterday and wouldn't want the media to turn on us by seeming to be churlish by not picking him. I totally underestimated the possibility that senior players would basically say they don't want to play with the kid. I'm really pleased the players have stepped up as they have.
Is that enough humble pie?

I’m definitely pissed off with Galvin ..but I would urge that fans ( and more importantly the club) not get carried away with “getting him back “….he might be a bit too big for his boots , but he no doubt has his father and the agent giving him what appears bad advice and Galvin is probably trying to keep them happy…

Rumours were that he struggled mentally last year with the negative media attention …Dont shoot me … , but he is a still a pretty young kid and probably needs to be treated accordingly .. the tigers are ahead in the PR war at the moment ..but that can change quickly …

I’m directing my real anger to that grub Moses …
Tigers are winning the PR war because 99% of the media has been pro Tigers on this matter. That can change if the media starts its usual negative approach towards the Tigers and that is likely to happen as it drives ratings.

The media will need to keep this story going, so standby for a 101 side stories. They will milk this one dry and facts and truth will play a very little part

You may expect or have a preference, god knows everyone has on this forum. But it doesn't matter. No one knows the real dynamic within the squad right now. Work today will be interesting, or it may be as run of the mill as any other day. Ultimately, it's not simply about naming the best 17, now that one of the best 17 has dropped a bomb on the place.

Whenever there is this sort of drama within a club, I always think back to this piece I read a few years ago.
I totally agree with that, which is why I said team.
I’m sure Richo knows this, I do.
As for Benji, he’d be learning it now from Richo.
If Gal makes our team better on game day then he should be picked, if not, then I have to rely on Richo and Benj to make the call for the good of the team, and do it.
I’m with em either way. But getting all emotional and vindictive is not good biz.

why is that relevant about which side leaked it?

It’s a part of this whole story as it explains why Moses won’t even consider or negotiate on the offer that was made …
