Can’t agree. He seems to be to have a sense of entitlement well beyond that which his abilities would suggest. He signed a contract, nobody forced him, I’m assuming on the advice of Moses and his father. He should honour that contract unless there is clear evidence of unconscionable behaviour on the part of WT. I’m not aware of any such behaviour.
I am totally bemused as to how Richo offered him +$1m a season. I haven’t seen anything to suggest to me that he is or will be worth that.
I see a kid who could develop into a workmanlike first grader if he improves in some areas. I’m happy to see him leave if WT decide to let him.
The post you replied to is just wests tigers pile on …, with the ultimate objective being to sound holier than thou/“ I told you so”, self serving bullshit .
The club tried to give a saloon passage to a Player they invested in when the rest of junior footy thought he wasn’t worth it . They even paid 5k to get him across here . The kid shot up 6-7 inches in height , and the club struck gold . Fools gold it ended up being .
So to say the club shouldn’t have blooded him , because of whatever reason is once again bullshit .
The eels debuted Ilongi this year at 18 . The dolphins debuted Katoa at 18 . Taumalolo debuted at 18 . Til
Brasher debuted at 17 . If the kid is good enough you give him a go. Most kids in turn feel a sense of innate loyalty , and desire to return the favour.
That’s just human nature . To feel like “we would have debuted anywhere , and we don’t owe you nothing is simply short sighted and not real .
Plenty of “best player to come through in years” don’t achieve anything , and most arnt given the time to fail . Willie Peters and Karl Filiga come to mind without much thought .
The nrl has figured him out . It was inevitable . Not because he’s shit or anything , but that’s what they do . Study video and shut you down . He needs to develop to overcome this . Apparently we can’t do it . Sweet there’s the door … but we need some players in return .
