They'll be like the kids of Ashfield, Burwood Lidcombe Strathfiled Auburn Granville etc etc in 1987, phil1986 …they will cope...somehow they - will - cope.

They will be like the kids of Ashfield, Burwood, Lidcombe, Strathfield, Auburn and Granville etc that stopped following Wests when they left Lidcombe in 1986\. They don't just cope they just move on with their lives.

Based on average lidcombe crowds in 86 I think the 113 kids that still lived in that area in 87 followed the Maggie's to ctown.

Knuckles is just sprouting bulldust, he WAS one of those kids, as was I ….several others we know...all still here

Sorry to keep bursting your balloon knuckles.

Ex members giving up their Sundays. "OH no would do that...ridiculous"

Thnx wtfl986

:unamused:

Perhaps you are right knuckles, without the top level team to watch within 5 mins of home they stop supporting them at all. That is why everyone has stopped supporting AFL in Melbourne since they moved away from those suburban grounds. It is also why no kid out in country Australia has ever supported a rugby league , afl or union team in the big leagues. People who live I sydney and have to catch a train for 20 mins to go to a game and then winge about it. I grew up in the country we would have to drive 2-3 hours to play our own games , let alone the 6 hours each way to watch an nrl game. However we didn't stop supporting them or never support them in fact I would say country supporters of nrl teams are more loyal then most cityslickers. ANZ has better facilities, better access, better food, etc, etc and is the future not just for us but most teams. Do the Wests tigers still represent Western Sydney if they play a t ANZ of course they do , I live in the inner west but i dont support other team when the tigers play at Campbelltown because they aren't representing my area anymore.

If that is the best excuse not to move then we should move tommorrow

haha !!!
113 kids might be overstating it ….. Lidcombe station heading to the game at Leumeah there were no Wests fans, when it pulled up at Auburn still no one and when it pulled up at Granville there were two Lebanese brothers that followed them the same as I did. On the train home, a lot got off at Maq Fields, Ingleburn and Liverpool ..... After that the train was empty .... When Wests left Lidcombe sure people still called themselves Wests Supporters .... They just didn't go to the games any more. Big difference some don't want to acknowledge.

Number has crept up to 5779, increasing by only a couple hundred a week over the last couple weeks, and 890 since 31 Jan. In the previous 2 years, we have seen a big kick in February, where
- 3084 members signed up between 5 Feb 2013 and 25 Feb 2013 (154 a day).
- 3345 members signed up between 15 Feb 2012 and 29 Feb 2012 (239 a day).

No sign of a kick in sales at all this year…

I just tried to get a 4 game LO pack bronze deal and i cant get one??

Sold out???

Bahaha!

And you wonder why people don't want to become members,

This isn't trying to have a dig, but point out the hopelessness at times.

For the past 3 years, whenever I have signed up. I have always had problems.

It's never smooth sailing, and its a rarety that they have packs or cards out toe prior to the season starting, although they have more than 2 months warning.

Rather then look after customers, they have to wait till a quota is reached so the can mass distribute.

IMO membership team or structure needs an overhaul. Staff are always friendly, but outside of that, I never have a positive experience.

If it was any other business, I would never go back.

I can only assume that their GA allotment has been sold out for Leichardt, which is strange but perhaps they don't want a repeat of last year or the year before when everyone was up in arms about Leichardt being Sold out and members only due to that many memberships being sold.

As someone who works in online marketing you'd be surprised how many businesses make things difficult for customers to purchase online and wonder why their sales aren't going anywhere.

From members email

Membership Cards and Packs

If you have recently signed up as a member or have not yet received your card and kit, please contact the membership team via phone on (02) 8741 3300 or via email at <membership@weststigers.com.au>. You will still be able to access the ground as part of your membership package even if your card and kit has not arrived in time for Round 1.</membership@weststigers.com.au>

It was very sad to see the membership race launched by the nrl today and the tigers currently have the lowest members of any club in the comp. I think a lot can be done but I am still surprised our numbers are so low especially given the price

Theyre trying.

I got a call today - I had previously gotten my non WTs supporting son a membership but not this year - doing his HSC…they wanted to know if he was signing up again.

Theyre trying

The ''fans'' are letting them down

biggest bandwagoners in the nrl… fickle fans who base there support on... grounds, pre joint venture team, amount of a particular colour on the players undies....

Further to Ink's post above and the email sent out yesterday, I renewed/changed to family ticketed some two weeks ago and received a couple of Dispatch Notification emails yesterday evening. As the first round is fast closing in guys, for those that have already got your kits, just wondering what the general timetable to actual delivery from this years couriers has been?

Thanks in advance.
