Arrows current contract at the titans is not worth much so losing him won’t be enough. If Taylor leaves then the titans will likely pay some of his salary elsewhere. With the resigning of brimson, losing 2 players as high profile as arrow and Taylor won’t be enough for what latrell wants. The kid has already won 2 premierships and an origin series so I’m not sure what further Mal can advise him on, there would be no point in him going up there on smaller money in order to ‘build something’.
Also have it on good authority he won’t be joining a Queensland team

The one thing Mal can give him is a free ride into the Australian team.

This mess can be traced directly to what now looks like terrible misjudgement of LM's marketability by those advising him. He rejects a pretty decent "centre money" offer of $800k from the Chooks which results in them pulling the deal and, essentially, telling him to get lost! His representatives no doubt thought Latrell would be knocked over in the rush of other clubs offering him megabucks deals! He got only one formal offer-ours! Very embarrassing! No wonder they're hanging out hoping for more interest. This has the capacity to interfere with our pre season, if it hasn't done already, and needs to be sorted quickly. Hope our club has at least gently nudged Latrell's people in that direction.

Mitchell is due back after the Christmas break like Marshall being a Rep player early January so should't have any effect on pre-season really..

If we wait around confirm his signature or not till he returns from holidays in January, it wont affect LM's preparation, but it will affect the makeup of our squad. Players we might be interested in may have signed elsewhere by then.

And here's something I don't get, personally if I was starting a new job somewhere, if like to have it sorted where Im going before I go on holidays. That way I'm not thinking about it and having that affect my holiday, but maybe that's just me.

If we have a plan B, then great! Otherwise pushing back will just look dumb.

I.e. We come out on Monday and sign lomax suggesting that we couldn't wait for latrell.

I have no doubt our recruiting team is all over this .. yes the longer we wait .. we may miss out on other quality (but not the same quality as LM) players that are available.

Im sure they are playing the game with other players in the back ground that we haven't heard about as yet .. ;-)

Sure we can come out of it with heads held high. If the negotiating team make a viable but realistic offer and then stick to it, if Mitchell says no I want more money or whatever that's his loss. We don't lose face as long as we don't get played for suckers, bargain hard and stick to it.
Latrell could lose face playing in CC for a season though.

My gut says he’s at Souths in 2021, the debate just surrounds where he is and what he does in 2020.

I honestly don’t know why the really good players have such a disdain for WT. That elite players have been secured by the likes of the Cowboys, Parramatta, Bulldogs, Newcastle, Penrith and the ultimate NRL basket case Titans over the years, but not us makes me really sick in the stomach. I don’t understand the hate, I really don’t.

A lot of negativity here lately. Our offer has only been on the table for a week? Manager is doing his job, trying to get the most money/ best offer he can for his client. If you were paying 5-10% wouldn't you want him to do his job?

LATRELL MITCHELL UPDATE
Okay so I’ve been copping multiple messages and I had a post deleted a day or two ago as my source asked me to put it down
However this is what I can say!
99% chance as I’ve stated from day 1 he’ll be at the Tigers!
- The Cowboys as I said before he even went over for the meeting used him purely as bait for Holmes (don’t listen to Paul Green he is purely saying they’re still keen to protect there brand and image)
-The Rabbits will not have the money until the Burgess agenda is settled which could take another 6 months (also Roosters not willing to release him to them) while also the club being more keen on focussing there attention on Arrow
- The Titans quite frankly have no cap until 2021, Latrell wants out of by the end of this year (only took the meeting with Mal out of respect and leverage as well) while also personally I don’t think Latrell sees himself ever playing there regardless of the cap situation
The Wests Tigers from this day are the only team to have an offer on the table for Mitchell
Everything’s ready all he needs to do is sign and this could be announced by tomorrow or sooner
However, Latrell is taking his time and wants to enjoy the holidays with his family and friends as there’s no rush for him to make a decision

What ''really good players'' have we ever missed out on? We've never had the money to chase them. Regardless, I'm curious to know who they are and where they've said they hate us.
