Sometimes those boofhead mates stumble onto something

Or sometimes a Dad of a player thanks you for showing so much support to their son

Sometimes boofheads get lucky

I think the issue is more that some of the posts are not qualifying the quality of the information at all, just making proclamations that things will happen. If I said, "Joe Slob who holds up one end of the bar at the local pub told me that Latrell Mitchell was going to stay with the Roosters because he scried the dregs of his 27th schooner of the day and they told him so" then it would be a little different to me just saying, "Latrell Mitchell is going to stay with the Roosters".

Also if I remember correctly, someone on this forum knows someone involved in marketing at Easts. Might be the same person. They knew the day that Tedesco was going to be announced before the announcements were made. Even got the time right if I remember correctly.

I think @teddy23 provide the first definitive info on that one, though no idea of his source.

I'll be honest lads, I'm about done with the entire Latrell saga. I've been lead to believe that an offer has been tabled, for not only the position but at the dollars he is asking, he has even spoken to other clubs even after the tigers made him an offer, there is no one else and he still hasn't signed. I might be a bit thin skinned, but that feels a bit disrespectful to me, he should either knock it back or put pen to paper, or the tigers
rescind the offer, just so all parties can move forward.

How do you know the Cows haven't offered him more money but his preference is us so he is just weighing it up. Long shot i know, but at the end of the day we do not know who has said what, who has offered what, and what they are offering. Stories from the Tele who today referred to FRNSW as the Royal Fire Service..........thats the kind of journalism people are hanging off.
All we really know for a fact, is we want want him. Our Chair has been quoted. Until anything else comes around, thats the **ONLY** facts we have.

@tbones10 Yeh it’s frustrating, at this point who’s to say he hasn’t committed, and the tigers have a marketing strategy.
We Just have to wait.

I’ll have a guess. 4pm today...major press conference....Pascoe will wear his best tie.

I sure as hell hope so, as I don’t think I could handle another weekend of everyone speculating, myself included!

Sadly 4pm has come and gone.
So, another weekend of speculation and frustration awaits.
Damn!

Don't roosters have to release him first before he signs with another club?

Yep

Why ultimatum? Just start hunting the next target, if the next target signs you remove the previous offer. We just need to keep moving forward.

I’m hopeful it’s a done deal and they will announce it Monday but even if we don’t get him I’m positive Madge will have a back up plan and already be working on it

Ultimately, it's in the Roosters best interest to release ASAP as they will want to get on with signing players.

Can't see that being the hold up.

The smokey is Souths...if the NRL grants Burgess a medical retirement, then it stands to reason that they'll make a play for Mitchell.

It's very likely Mitchell is under advice to wait the situation out to put 2 bidders back in the auction. Perhaps the "fine print" theory is just a ruse to drag out negotiations until Souths can get their hat in the ring?

Our best chance is if the NRL do not grant the medical retirement...

As of now, we are the only one in the running and it hasn't been announced...Mitchell is hoping for more options to present themselves...

@matchball Why an ultimum when are just taking their time finishing the release? There is is very big money involved. Put in a similar situation as Roosters and most wouldn't rush the realease. Wests Tiges delayed for months before releasing Matterson.

Wests tigers need to quickly out with Mitchell if that is really what he is trying to do. If so ests Tigers need to break negotiations immediately. The club has been taken for a ride too many times by self indulgent footballers.

That's the way to go about it
