Today's announcement from Pascoe was a shot across the bow at Mitchell's management. Discussions directly involving Latrell himself has been positive & every indication was given he would be joining but since dealing directly with his management that's when the games have started, many at the club believe he's not getting the full story from his management & hence the very public withdrawal today. There's still every chance he could join but the handling of this from his management team has been nothing short of disgusting !

I'm proud of our club for the stand they took

Cheers @THE_POM

very disappointing. 100% understand why the club has taken this action but 2020 roster is looking very average with no one of note on the market. A shame we didnt get anything in return for releasing Matterson & Masters

Time to name and shame those sources of yours.

Don't tell me things change, this was always looking the most likely outcome.

The dude verbally agreed to terms with us and then came back with ridiculous requests. So be it. The sources were all on the money the entire time. This wasn't some backroom deal either, Latrell's team were leaking stuff to everybody.

100% they have, their conduct has been disgraceful & aren't doing whats best for their client.

Thanks as usual @THE_POM
I Was thinking similar and again it just demonstrates to me the cancer that player managers have become for modern sport - especially the NRL

If indeed it’s true, that we have pulled out of contract discussions with LM, great! and a fantastic move by the WTs hierarchy, rather then being used by LM and his crew for their own personal agendas and in the meantime we could miss out on other possible signings - yeah no thanks LM ...The time frame is to short to stuff around with this type of thing especially these days with players wanting out of contracts.

Love your work @THE_POM

At least we're in a good position now. We can actively look at our other options, while potentially having LM's management crawl right back.

Pascoe and Maguire better have something else lined up so they don't look any more stupid than they already do.

You're acting like a spoiled baby. The club made him a good offer, he wouldn't commit, the club moved on. What exactly do you want them to do?

It's also quite possible that the Tigers have realised they're playing a strong hand - they've pulled this offer, but have left the door open to making a (possibly smaller) one if Mitchell gets his s- together.

I'm not acting like a baby at all. This club has a long track record of making poor decisions. It's a bit of a pattern. If they have no contingency plan you don't think they're stupid? If Thompson is fullback round 1 next year will you be happy?

If it means we have JAC, Arrow and Lomax in the team, yeah it makes me very happy

Cheers as always for the info.

Latrell needs to get himself better management. Obviously not caring too much about him and more themselves.

"Since dealing with his management, that's when the games have started"
Who were they dealing with before?

We reached out to his management to arrange a meeting with Latrell which happened discussions where had via phone after between him prior to going on holidays, since we've now only been going through his manager that's when things started going sideways. An agreement was reached last week but since that "verbal" everything has been silent & his manager has in a way blocked any chance of moving forward. A meeting was arranged this week face to face but then got pushed back & then cancelled leading to todays annoucment

in your opinion do you think we'll still sign him, if he gets his managers in line? also any truth to the fox rumor?🙂

Stupid for not compromising the Club standards they want to achieve…?

what standards are they Geo? Never winning anything, ever? I've followed this club since I was old enough to follow rugby league but i've just about had enough.

Allowing players special treatment over others in the squad we have done that in the past...not a good way to build a winning culture...

As talented as Mitchell may be...if he wasn't the right fit for what we want to build..well next..

FWIW....from what I've been told Mitchell's management had agreed for him to come here ..then wanted changes in the contract ..to which WT weren’t prepared to make…at this stage…

We still have interest in Mitchell…

IMO it shows we are going in the right direction...

chin up mate

Yeah i've been hearing this right direction stuff for about 10 years now.

Don't give up..it's not over yet

No I don't, it's not completely dead in the water but I think that door is closed. Yes JAC is 100% a target but it's a case of what the Storm think. 2 years to go on his contract, find it hard they would let him go easily. Bellamy is a man manager & it's family/personnel reasons he wants to leave Bellamy is the type to find a way to make it work.
Advantage we have is that Addo-Carr loves this club since he was a kid & dreamed of playing alongside Benji
