Mitchell has snubbed and refused to meet Maguire this was the trigger to take the contract off the table !, obviously our club in any respect does not meet the high standards that this primadonna sets himself. Reading the article in the paper this morning and the statement from Madge on what he expects from any player joining the club highlights just how our club has changed . Anyone that wanted Mitchell to join our club should read these articles read between the lines and be grateful the club made this stand. Madge has a plan has been the catch cry of late ...I am starting to believe this after years of failure@!

Hard to believe much apart from direct quotes, especially when within about a third of a page, there are two figures showing a $200k disparity in the cap amount available for next year.

Yep. That's how I read it. Quotes are the only relevant bits the rest is just seeds for the rumour mill.

I have to say that not getting LM is a bit of a setback for us as he would have been good for the club and team as far as a marquee signing goes,having said that,it also shows me that as a club we will no longer be taken for granted or dangled along until much better comes calling...
We need to show all and sundry that we made a fair bid and deal to a player who wants out of his existing deal,we were being mucked around when we were sincere in our dealing with him and were not given the respect back ….Madge and co have done the right thing for the club and Im sure that Madge has a genuine plan B and will do whatever is best for the team and club...bravo Madge,Pascoe and co...

Well the SMH mentioned names of prospective targets and that is great but are they realistic? JAC, Lomax and Drinkwater among them. I would have thought Scott would have been right up there? It will be interesting to see who we come up with because we need two fast and elusive backs.

I would be fine with that, but it’s harder to land 2 signings than it is 1. I’d be very surprised if we managed to land both of them.

So nothing has changed, we're still waiting for Mitchell, we're just playing semantics with the words "closed door" and "contract pulled"

The contract is still there if he wants it (it was never pulled) the door is still open (it was never closed) so the ball is still firmly in his court, nothing has changed other than we muttered the words "contract pulled" for a few hours to try to bluff and hurry him up.

This is a bigger joke than I ever imagined, we just look really ready desperate now

Don't know why anyone is particularly surprised what happened yesterday.

Roosters pulled Latrell's offer because he/his team were dicking them around, Tigers made a good-faith offer then encountered the same foolish behaviour.

I see some light-headed folks calling Tigers foolish or embarrassed, but we've basically been througg exactly what the Roosters have been through.

Yes Roosters can better afford to lose a player like Latrell but no club top or bottom wants to be part of a circus.

And a 4-year mega deal, you don't want to start that on poor terms.

So well done Tigers mgmt in my opinion. Also - good news is it appears we have at least $3.8M available for the next few seasons, which is elite player money however you dice it.

Also don't forget, if I'm not mistaken, the current TV deal and salary cap are not guaranteed beyond 4 years, i.e. there is general reluctance from clubs projecting too far beyond the current TV deal?

I imagine if Latrell approached the club directly goodwill would exist to finalise the deal . The club has spoken well of Latrell.

I've said from the beginning that players like Latrell don't sign with the Tigers.
If you just read Madges comments he clearly explained that we pulled the offer because of Latrells lack of commitment to our club.
Which means Latrell doesn't want to play for us, which is what I've been trying to get through people's thick heads

So please point out anything I've said that has been inaccurate.
