I'd say the JR issue has probably put a kibosh on any signings this week

I would think that would be all the more reason to announce some good news.

Like the post Chaos:
Just to clarify Jordan went back to the Bulls in 1996 for mega mega bucks which is still the biggest contract in NBA history (when considering inflation) only because his agent played the market, namely getting a mega offer from the knicks (which he was arguably going to take) only to screw them last minute. He also was going to a team with Pippen Kukoc and bringing in Rodman. It was absolutely a super team.
Jordan is still the greatest, but he had an all star supporting cast!

Regardless, I'm all for it!! Let's bring in Latrell and get a supporting cast of all stars!!

I believe Madge could be a big drawcard for a player like Mitchell.

How so..get him a Kiwi Jumper..?

Madge has won a premiership, he knows what kinda of team to build and he also helped Inglis become the Fullback he was.

All I ask of latrell, is that, if he is coming here for the money and we are the only real club tabling an offer, I don’t want the club to move forward with negotiations. If he is coming here willingly, I’d welcome him with both arms.

I don’t care if he is coming here for the money. As long as when he does he acts professionally and puts in his best efforts on the field.

The fact remains, Jordan stayed a bull, they built the team around him, showcased his skill and was able to attract players to the team.
I feel Latrell could have a similar impact, potentially.

How are people still debating if LM would be a good signing? If he only lives up to a fraction of what we expect, he’s still a better No.1 option. Plus he kicks.

Plus! The club just needs a “win”. Signing LM would do wonders for members, sponsors and the general feel for the club. Worried that he’s “unproven” in fullback just boggles the mind. If the club is lucky enough to convince the kid to play for the tigers it would be a master stroke ( or a large bag or cash) either way, win win.

A lot of people are using primary school level Rugby League knowledge to hide their true feelings that they just don't like this guy. Or any ego players for that matter. Happy to finish 9th this lot.

More important to be a "good bloke" than have talent.

With you there Pat. There's not much out there and we have a cap allowance to spend. Best off taking one of the best proven names in the market. He has everything we lack. Nonsense about not singing the anthem and taking his time making decisions are not legitimate reasons not to have him here.

We will be a better team for having him here.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the only thing I hate about the bloke is the jersey he's worn for the last four seasons. That would evaporate if he wore ours.

Well said, agree with it all.

Does anybody know whether Lattrell and his manager did actually meet Wests Tigers this past week?

There is nothing to meet about. They know what's on the table.
They just have to sign.

The important thing is whether there is an inclination to sign.

Disagree, surely McGuire gets a sit down one on one before we cough up 3 million

I would be very surprised and disappointed if he didn't.

FWIW I’ve heard that the Roosters have offered to pay $200k of Mitchell’s contract for next year...but only if he goes to Wests Tigers

So another day past and the same result.... Nothing but hopes and dreams :grimacing:

Meanwhile the player market continues to dwindle.
