I would rather have to choose between two kids with huge potential than none.

But you can only sign and keep so many. Still only 30 man squads.

Joining the tigers

Annandale, Latrell doesn’t want to go anywhere. It’s quite obvious to the casual observer that he became fixated on the idea that he was worth a lot more than the Roosters were offering. He may be the best footballer we’ve seen for a while but his country boy naivety was on display as he door knocked for offers purely designed for the benefit of the Roosters bosses. They called his bluff and shopped him to the wolves. It’s been an absolute joke. Worse still, the Tigers apparently made him a massive offer without personally asking him what his intentions were? What he was hoping to achieve by committing to the Tigers. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong.

I'd say at this stage there is more chance that @Geo with give birth to Identical Septuplets than LM coming here willingly

Talks to Emma Lawrence in a connected story also

If we get JAC.... I would be surprised if LM isn’t tempted at all in joining us.

To even be in a discussion with the thought prospect of having both in the backline is mouth watering to say the least.

I’m not a fan of the draft, a trade window sounds interesting.

I don’t think clubs should own the players unless a player has come through the grades for a single club also up to 50% of that players salary should be cap except. Once the player leaves their jnr club, the player becomes a free agent. If the player wants to break his contract a fee of $100k will be paid by the buying club to the selling club. If the club wants to release a player the club must carry an additional $100k on their cap for the following season. A mutual agreement incurs no fee but all parties must be agreeable.

Same fee should apply for free agent players and clubs wanting to break a contract early.

Just a 3 beer suggestions.

I'm not a big fan of a trade window as it is based too much in fantasy. We decry the lack of loyalty and call players mercenaries but there is nothing as inhuman as giving managers the power to swap their employees and them having no choice in the matter.

I think the whole value of winning has gone too far.

The NRL needs strong leadership. That would sort out lots of the agent problems.

Respect your views.

Only thing I query is that unless people are cheating and breaking the rules the primary value of sport is winning.

I refer to trade windows as a short mid season window were with all party agreement or the above penalties apply, players can be traded between clubs.

Maybe even make origin a two week stand alone event and a trade window at the same time. Make it so both origin sides select 30 man squads, all 30 players must see game time during the 3 game series. Also those players must miss a game for their clubs before and after origin.

Addresses the risk of player burnout with 30 man squads and the break before and after. Creates strategy, who to play for what games and may stop clubs stacking their ranks with high value players. Because they won’t have them before and after origin.

would be a massive media frenzy also extends the season for more tv coverage adding value.

Down side is the two events would clash.

Thanks mate.

Your idea sounds pretty good w the trade window. Allows for mid-season switches. Defo the Origin period needs to change. They should make it stand alone.

ok posting about players personal lives and direct swearing is against forum rules..if it happens again the poster will be banned..

Given the Storm's insistence on (at least) a player replacement of similar quality as a precondition of letting JAC go early, does anyone think Latrell might fit the bill nicely and that the Chooks could maybe find room for JAC?

Can’t see him going to Melbourne too far to Taree and family

Also i think players will balk a little about going to storm now as Smith is leaving after next season, The supercoach is also up in the air and might finish up in a couple of years..

Plenty of daily flights to Williamtown airport just north of Newcastle and then a hop, skip and jump to Taree.

Taree is a long way from Melbourne if indeed he needs to be able to pop over for some fishing.

About 5 hours door to door. Domestic flight and 90 odd minute drive, so not that big a deal for an already frequent traveller.

Little sign at the end of the video there

"Need to see where I'm going to be
in 3/4 years.. moves going to big"

Also ended with a selfie with a tigers fan. Start
Printing the jerseys now

I'll give Latrell credit - I've never seen so many people with supposed inside information being proven totally incorrect and contradictory with one another.

I reckon at least 10x "Latrell has agreed with Tigers, confirmation imminent" and now about half a dozen "Trel will be a Rabbit".

He should change jobs to work for ASIO, subterfuge and misinformation.

Defence signals mate... haha

Really, heading towards 400 pages on this topic is getting kinda crazy. For Heavens sake Latrell, put us out of our misery.

I didn't see a lot wrong with the previous post from either of you (except perhaps the c bomb in the text). Seems everyone's on tenderhooks over signings and this late at night near Xmas perhaps a couple of ales are at play.

It's Xmas folks, a time for peace and good will my Tiger brothers. Be cool.
