**So Roosters waive 200k in fees if LM signs with us
That's 500k-600k he'd lose in 2020 by signing with Souths
Still reckon we can get him, hopefully Madge and Pascoe are taking advantage of the situation**
The next 7 days should be pretty interesting
We just really need that 1 marquee signing to get the ball rolling. If we can sign LM you'd think that would all but guarantee JAC as well who will be granted a release at the end of 2020 at the latest
Plus COE next year with a tonne of cap money to spend

With all that advantage to us it would be pretty poor result if he didn't sign, but he seems to be doing everything but sign with us.

We’ve gone from a “Latrell will be training with the bunny’s on Monday” to a “Latrell rejects bunny’s offer” within a 24 hour period.
Welcome to the circus bunny fans.

We have said we are not calling him again...

Modern players won't do the begging.....we should be on the phone and proactive.

Imagine if the Clippers sat there and said 'Kawhi can call us if he wants to chat'?

All these agents follow the American model. I don't necessarily subscribe to it, but it is reality.

Pick up the phone, be aggressive...sell the Tigers message...sell us as a place a player would want to come...

Don't just say 'well, they can call us if they want'.

Yeah I'm with you, wouldn't look good on us.
Although it does make sense that hes not in a position to sign our contract since changing management as our deal was negotiated with Rushton. If his new management reaches out for a meeting it could be on, see how it plays out next week

This was the pom's post the day WT pulled the offer
**Today’s announcement from Pascoe was a shot across the bow at Mitchell’s management. Discussions directly involving Latrell himself has been positive & every indication was given he would be joining but since dealing directly with his management that’s when the games have started, many at the club believe he’s not getting the full story from his management & hence the very public withdrawal today. There’s still every chance he could join but the handling of this from his management team has been nothing short of disgusting !**

This is the harsh reality, we should hit him up and offer the dollars (Again) with an added legacy.
If we make the top 8 or even win the finals within 1-3 years this will Potentially make LM look like an immortal.
It would be very interesting to see who would join the tigers after signing Latrell and possibly JAC.
Tigers need to go all in, and Latrell needs to see the potential.

We don't need to grovel any more then we have
Latrell knows we want him
Every rugby league fan on this planet knows we want him
We are not going to kiss his backside and beg him to come
If he wants the money he will come
But after all the charades I am not sure it is such a good idea anymore
I just don't think he has a clear head and that will affect his game for some time to come

He's negotiating in the mould of SBW and Hayne...guys that think they are bigger than the game. Hope this whole experience brings him down to Earth, but I won't be holding my breath.

For a guy that could have set himself up on a million bucks a year, he seems to have totally botched it.

I wonder if his pride will get in the way of dialing Tigers HQ to revisit that $1 million contract he was offered?

Will pride get in our way?

Webster reported that Souths opening offer was well below Mitchell's expectations (what a surprise) and that Mitchell's new agent had already made a counter offer. You'd think it would have to be a very very good one. Seems it is all about the money after all!

Money and emulating his idol, Greg Inglis.

Agree 100%!
If our administration thinks they have given it their best shot and are sitting on their bums waiting for the phone to ring, then we now know why we are not signing marquee players!
What sort of message does that send to our playing roster?
We now know where this losing culture is breeding if that’s what is happening. We need to be hitting the ground running on these matters and not stop selling the Tigers positive message until a contract is signed. Play to the final whistle!

It's getting to the point now where he won't be fit when he takes the field, regardless of where he ends up.

Exactly! I’m starting to think that he may not even play rugby league at all this year. His interest in actually getting into it seems to be non-existent.

So, you’re saying his head isn’t in it? That was clear to see 2 months ago. Some had trouble moving past pinning it on our club though with “he doesn’t want to come here”.

I disagree. If Mitchell is too young, and too dumb to see the value of our offer he simply does not have the maturity required for the player we need.
We do not need a primadonna, along for the ride and for the pay packet. We need a talented, skilled leader assisting us to win games.
Personally I no longer think Mitchell is what we are after. If he takes the lead and directs his 'current' manager to call us I may change my opinion, but at the moment, he looks like a follower not a leader.

I’d happily have latrell for Just one year, even if he decided to go to Souths.

Sometimes players can enjoy it and want to stay. Happens in the US frequently

Or keep him for the year then ship him off to Melbourne as compensation for JAC. Works for me.

I'm all for throwing big dollars at Latrell if he is actually interested in playing for us but not if he is just trying to tempt South's to offer him more. No way.
Latrell needs to show some interest and from all reports he hasn't and he has had plenty of time.
Signing a commited Latrell would be a great acquisition for our club but any thing short of that is not acceptable.

No it doesn’t. He’d have been here in November if it was.
