So Roosters waive 200k in fees if LM signs with us
That's 500k-600k he'd lose in 2020 by signing with Souths. Thats a lot of money to turn down for a guy with a young family
Still reckon we can get him, hopefully Madge and Pascoe are taking advantage of the situation
The next 7 days should be pretty interesting
We just really need that 1 marquee signing to get the ball rolling. If we can sign LM you'd think that would all but guarantee JAC as well who will be granted a release at the end of 2020 at the latest
Plus COE next year with a tonne of cap money to spend

We should up our offer for the first year and really put a cat amongst the pigeons. Same amount overall but increase the first year. Let souffs squirm.

I disagree. If Mitchell is too young, and too dumb to see the value of our offer he simply does not have the maturity required for the player we need.
We do not need a primadonna, along for the ride and for the pay packet. We need a talented, skilled leader assisting us to win games.
Personally I no longer think Mitchell is what we are after. If he takes the lead and directs his 'current' manager to call us I may change my opinion, but at the moment, he looks like a follower not a leader.

So your position mirrors what we understand is the clubs . An emotional immature response to a problematic issue?

He will be at Souths by early next week. Both parties will sort out the money and it will be a done deal. Been a fun ride but time to move onto the next one

Webster reported that Souths opening offer was well below Mitchell's expectations (what a surprise) and that Mitchell's new agent had already made a counter offer. You'd think it would have to be a very very good one. Seems it is all about the money after all!

The Same Webster that said it was down and terms agreed To? Weird that he would agree to terms when it was well below expectations.

I find it hard to believe folks are still buying into it.....

Mr Pascoe believes it’s a false story that Souths are leaking to make the cap situation plausible

Spot on. Webster has lost credibility on this story. Best to keep quiet.

To me having a manager negates the pride assumption. it is his job to seek the best out there and advise his client of what is available.

huh...?

Wouldnt be surprised if South's is stirring this up. They have to get this deal over the line with the NRL. The low offer was always going to be questioned. They will suddenly find a way to find a bit more in their cap.

I think the club is handling the 'problematic' issue well. The clubs, and my, response is anything but 'emotional' or 'immature'. I think the club has identified that it needs a committed, skilled leader and is prepared to pay very well to obtain one.
If a player is made an offer like the one we have tabled and that offer is rejected, move on. Mitchell would know our position re who we want as a player and the dollar value of our offer. The ball is in his court. Professionally handled in my view.
Alternatively, we could take an immature and emotional, man crush, we need a marquee player at all costs, approach and go begging I suppose. But I'm glad we haven't.

Anyone else think that LM seems like that hot girl who is nothing but a flirt? Goes on dates, loves the attention, seems really interested but can never quite commit. You think it’s all good on the date, he is making the right noises etc but your after the date, your calls never get returned. You then find out that about ten other guys are in the same boat. You then realise that you have been wasting your time because it’s only ever been about their ego and them feeling powerful because they have so many people running after them.

Wouldn’t be surprised if there is another potential suitor who magically appears

Please dont ever get involved in recruitment at our club.

Mr Pascoe is of the belief he will take Souths offer over tigers. If the tigers weren’t sitting on their hands in regards to JAC that situation could perhaps sway LM. It’s all very weird.

Lol, ok we will agree to disagree all I’m saying is that we develop a culture of “stand up and fight until we hear the bell, stand toe to toe, trade blow for blow, until we hear that bell, that final bell, stand and fight like hell” for the things worth fighting for. Personally, I don’t care where Mitchell plays. Taking into account his behaviour at the Roosters and SoO, and tearful interview with Politis and Robinson, I thought he had played his last NRL game. My problem is that from a fans perspective, we need to have more mongrel and get the job done if it’s worth doing! This issue is apparently, from analysing msm reports, that we haven’t done enough. Appears we wanted the contract to walk and talk for us?
