Let them go now

Can anyone think of any other club that's lost their best 3 (or at least 2) players to other clubs within one season (or one month actually)?

Not apportioning blame to anyone, just curious. All the bad stuff always happens to us.

Wests lost five players in one go..Les Boyd, Ray Brown & John Dorahy to Manly and Tom Raudonikis & Graeme O'Grady to Newtown in '80.

Fans like Milky will talk about today's events in 40/50 years time like old Wests fans do about 80… If this club hasn't folded that is

If they were that good why have we been where we have been for the last 4 years ?

4 years ago two were in high school, one was a rookie with injuries and the other was only just showing his class.

I think they signed before Cleary on board.
No loyalty,no pride. Chasing the money.
Good luck to them. They don't deserve to wear tigers colours.
Woods should be sacked as captain? If he is leaving.
The minute they don't put in reserve grade they go. Just like any other player.

Everyone's got a right to say what they feel. You need to get over it

Not on and on and on and on endlessly in thread after thread after thread - you're all upset boo hoo! Ok we get it already - move on!

It's been obvious for a while you've wanted these gone to spite the club and supporters. Congratulations, you got what you wanted.

What rot! Always claiming to know what people are thinking - you've got no idea. I would've loved for them to stay, but I'm not going to turn on them like some fickle infant purely because they've made a decision not to.

As far as I'm concerned, Woods & Tedesco have always been our best on the field and this season has been no exception. I respect them and I always will for what they've given to this club over the years and I am not about to resort to wishing them ill will and calling them ridiculous names simply because they have made a decision to leave and try and better their futures.

Take the high road buddy. I am sure Woods and Tedesco will invite you over for a BBQ in exchange for your kindness. How you could not be ropable boggles me truly.

Hard not to be emotional but I still think it's best to not play them. They didn't leave for money, they left to go to another club they thought would be more successful. Big slap in the face to their team 'mates', and we're better off showing would-be signings what they're coming to, (hopefully) a team of committed players who want to be there and put in their all.
Either way, looking forward to seeing the new skipper! Pity it wasn't in time for #Rowdy200…

We can let Aaron go. We can't have a captain around who doesn't want to be here and we can't have an ex-captain around. But, we can't let Tedesco go. Do you really want to see him tearing up for another club this season or, even worse against us?

We cannot be expected to support a side with these three in it. I won't be. I am going to be watching Panthers and Titans games with interest. Hopefully something clicks and I stick with them.

Like that taco ad goes 'why can't you be both?'

I'm filthy that we lose one of the best fullbacks in the game; someone who has been a figure head of the club for the last 24 months. However such is life. Decision has been made. We can sit here and hold hands in a circle and cry or accept it and move on. All I ask is that if they play FG that they rip in and give 110% as King Ivan would expect. If they arnt topping up theirs Opal, then they can walk home.

Yeah i agree Flip.

Bad form wishing these players injuries and what not :unamused: .

If we have offered the best money ? and they still go elsewhere , well that tells me more about the Club affairs than anything else .
I think the players took note with the Farah saga and now it is what it is.
I applaud the Club for the deadline but they know exactly what's going on and are trying to show some Authority over the situation when really it's to late…..well at least by tomorrow afternoon we can put this to bed .

So looks like Woods and Teddy signed weeks ago with the dogs and asked for extended cooling off period.

Roosters found out and went for Teddy.

Lying for weeks those two.

Weeks… you mean months

We need to explore player trades with Parra, Eels, Dogs. Its the smart long term option as these clubs are desperate for titles and may move valuable players to get Ted, Woods and Moses in their teams this year.

I would look at French, Gutho, Watson, Matterson, Kasiano, Reynolds

The honest truth is that Moses, Woods and Teddy werent good enough to get us into the finals over the last 3 years, thats fact…

If we were to pick 3 real marquee players in their exact same positions for example, Scott, Cronk and Boyd, or Hargreaves, Thurston and Coote, or Bromwich, Maloney, Inglis.... there would be a pretty good case to say we would have likely gone better.

Going from media speculation, these 3 were asking for 25-30% of the $8.3M. The old chestnut öne player doesnt make a team" rings true, but how about 2 or 3 of them? In our case it definitely doesnt.

Teddy would be a rough loss to stomach, but we know he alone cannot right the ship.

This is just the start of the player merry-go-round, and we may have lost some quality in Teddy, but we will most likely have a more even class across the pitch. Cleary has done it before, shifting names out and identifying talent on a budget. So we know he has the eye, and now he has an unparalled budget to do it with.

Likewise Wests got Langmack, Gillespie, Thomas, Farrar & Sedaris all from Canterbury in the early 90s.

Same here. These guys have dogged us. I don't wish anyone harm except for these dogs and their scummy manager.

I'm gonna be a father in September the baby can grow up and support who they want I don't believe in making your kids become fans of your team, then he or she can choose who the hell I can support next I don't wish upon anyone to be a tigers fan.
