I wonder how many weeks or years he is given. There seems to be no indication on that front. I thought it was crazy to not allow Austin the opportunity to secure the 6\. But I won't continue and drag down an upbeat thread at this point though. Wonder what peoples thoughts are on **what sort of time frame he or anyone for that matter should be given to prove themselves**. Some of our guys seem to be given years.
thats what i was asking in the Luke Brooks thread…
i completely agree re Moses, and think that right now we should be discussing things such as "how long can Austin hold out Moses from taking his spot?" because he has been tearing it up (as in ripping, not crying...) in NSW Cup. but no use living in the past.
Austin EARNED the spot last season. whilst not taking anything away from his potential or actual talent, i dont think Moses has had to work to oust an incumbent to earn his position in the NRL side - but rather from a very early stage he was anointed the heir apparent and is being allowed to develop in the top flight.
i want him to be a good player for the tigers, but as WD asks, i too wonder about the time frame as it seems to be a very subjective one also based on glimpses of what is to come. i guess i just hope for a couple of moments (such as his pass to lawrence last weekend) per game for now, then a few, then half a dozen, etc. to generate more faith in him.
but right now, harsh as it may seem, i dont consider him to be anywhere near projected expectations. players dont always set the world on fire when they first start - those who do are the really exceptional ones - but it will be interesting to see how he improves and how JT et al bring him along.
whatever the case, id still take him over marshall any day!!
moses is young and allowed to make silly mistakes. marshall never stopped!
