Let's Enjoy it While We Can!!

I guess my point is that I still don't think he is anywhere near good enough to be in first grade. Im not criticising him, just don't think he should be there yet. And it's not his defence but rather his attack which I think is lacking. More knowledgeable blokes than me are running the show of course. They obviously see more than I do. I don't think the fact that he is young is an excuse. That's something that we can control. If he's too young, then maybe someone older and more experienced is the answer. I look forward to him kicking on and tearing things up, but I wonder how long we need to wait until that happens and what we as supporters should expect time frame wise..

That's fair enough WD, but how do you grow without making mistakes? How do you grow without exposure?

A little less than a hundred hours WD. He will be going up against the benchmark team of the comp that will not miss him as he will be one of their primary targets. For mine he will get another pass mark from the coach in this his tenth or so top grade game.

Pretty sure that Taylor will loosen the reins with which he is holding Moses back, as the side begins to master the structure he is implementing. Whilst it is still only potential, Mitchell has bucket loads of it.

Wouldn't it be nice if we swapped ladder position with the new silver tails next weekend.
Bigger upsets have occurred .

I wonder how we went against them about this time last year??????????
Surely they must have run all over us.??
I mean, they have the financial power of the Packers behind them,
They even have a clapped out , old ex fake gladiator behind them. And, They've still got the left over Burgii.
How could we possibly win?

That reminds me , I must look up the score in that match last year.
It must have been a horrible hiding that they gave us.
Ah well, we can only dream 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray:

On second thoughts I don't think that I will look up that score, it'll probably just depress me for the rest of the day!!

We beat them last year when Tim Simona KO'ed Inglis and woods ran rough shot over the Burgess boys.

I wonder how many weeks or years he is given. There seems to be no indication on that front. I thought it was crazy to not allow Austin the opportunity to secure the 6\. But I won't continue and drag down an upbeat thread at this point though. Wonder what peoples thoughts are on **what sort of time frame he or anyone for that matter should be given to prove themselves**. Some of our guys seem to be given years.

thats what i was asking in the Luke Brooks thread…

i completely agree re Moses, and think that right now we should be discussing things such as "how long can Austin hold out Moses from taking his spot?" because he has been tearing it up (as in ripping, not crying...) in NSW Cup. but no use living in the past.

Austin EARNED the spot last season. whilst not taking anything away from his potential or actual talent, i dont think Moses has had to work to oust an incumbent to earn his position in the NRL side - but rather from a very early stage he was anointed the heir apparent and is being allowed to develop in the top flight.

i want him to be a good player for the tigers, but as WD asks, i too wonder about the time frame as it seems to be a very subjective one also based on glimpses of what is to come. i guess i just hope for a couple of moments (such as his pass to lawrence last weekend) per game for now, then a few, then half a dozen, etc. to generate more faith in him.

but right now, harsh as it may seem, i dont consider him to be anywhere near projected expectations. players dont always set the world on fire when they first start - those who do are the really exceptional ones - but it will be interesting to see how he improves and how JT et al bring him along.

whatever the case, id still take him over marshall any day!!
moses is young and allowed to make silly mistakes. marshall never stopped!

whats that, about 80 games or so? is that about how many siro has played? because i think he is now really showing himself to be fulfilling his potential and maybe that time is about right for a guy to really find his place in the nrl.

as i said in my previous post, im just looking for those glimpses you get where you can really see a young player is going to develop into a star. Brooks did this with his debut against st george but Moses hasnt…yet.

* … just had an attempt at working this out! is it 75 games?! a game is 80 minutes, so 100*60=6000, 6000/80=75\. 😕

Only time will tell but I believe Moses will be a much better player than Brooks.
I have always thought he has the skill set to be a real champion.
It's a big gamble by the Tigers to run with such a young spine but it will be worth it long term when they get a bit more game time together.

Moses did it in the game that Lulia scored 4 tries in last year.
I don't know what you guys want this kid to do at this stage.

You can either see he has "IT" or he doesn't.

Believe me after watching 5/8's for 65 years - he has "IT"

Patience - give him time.

As I said, all I want personally is to have a few of those moments where I think "damn, that was good. This kid can play…" - which so far I haven't really had many. Maybe I am expecting too much. The poor kid has had a lot of expectation put on him by being thrust into the no. 6!

For someone who has been watching league for 65 years to say he has "it" is very comforting indeed. The chance I am as good a judge as you is probably about 0.000000000000000000000000000000000001%!

Still, I'm not Robinson Crusoe on this and it's natural for people to take a "believe it when I see it" approach, being that most of us don't have the experience you do.

But I also know someone who's been watching for probably 60 years and is also yet to be swayed on Moses and I respect his opinion greatly as well (admittedly I'm biased as he's my dad!).

I'm keeping an open mind but am definitely hopeful he hits his straps (however long that takes - I see this season as a formative one anyway). God, how could I call myself a tigers supporter if I were hoping for anything else?!

Not game time Turnstyle, simply the number of hours until the end of the bunnies game.

I'm sorry but one good game in a dozen from Moses doesn't warrant any guarantees at this time

"One good Game"? He was MAN OF THE MATCH! Of course nothing is guaranteed. But like many have said on here, he is arguably even better than Brooksy. He can play half back, Full back and Five Eighth.

This is Tedesco 2013 all over again lol

If you missed his debut last year in NSW Cup here is some videos:

**Debut** **(Vs Newcastle- Round 11)**: http://www.nswrl.com.au/news/2014/05/26/tigers_v_knights_vb_nsw_cup_rd_11.html

Scores a try

**Vs Magpies- Round 12**: http://www.nswrl.com.au/news/2014/06/02/tigers_v_magpies_vb_nsw_cup_rd_12.html

Scores 2 tries

Give he, Brooks and Teddy to play together for the year. Make more mistakes and hopefully we'll see them develop. It's way too early at this point.

Sorry I saw more in the 5 games of NYC that Teddy played than I have seen in Moses since he joined the NRL side

Maybe I'm just jealous of Moses ,Mrs reckons Mitch can leave his shoes at the end of the bed anytime

I'm just not convinced yet

Watch out Happy, sounds like your Mrs is thinking of trading you in on a new model! I'm guessing the transformation from Craig McLachlan into Harold Bishop wasn't too pretty.
