Maybe so but learning skills while opposed in training makes them second nature on game day.Hal I don’t think we have to spend lotsa time in this area , these are the top level performers of our game and basic schoolboy errors like not being able to catch a pass is pretty poor mate
I’ve seen videos of training in other sports( EPL, NFL and AFL), and ut us a key part of the skill set required to be a good footballer. And they practice over and over.
We assume( always dangerous) because they are in first grade they can do it. Eg Lots of footballers can only pass well on one side etc which to me is a sin.
Imo if coaches are not doing it they should.
