What have I learned from this game, Waste Anasta is still the biggest tool in the shed!

You've only just realised this?

No just had it confirmed 100%.

Well it’s been a while where we dominated 2nd half like that. Impressive effort all round.
Our right edge defence ..... something has to be done there. It’s recurring nightmare that Madge and coaching staff can’t live with if we have any hope against any side let alone any top flight team.
Really feel sorry for Lawrence he is struggling ..... it may be time ..... it’s good that there is no reserve grade as would hate to see him finish his career there. Still it’s good to have players like Reynolds, Thompson, Lawrence, Packer and Taylor as first grade options .... just in case things don’t work out. But new generation is coming.
Jennings played good no problem with his effort today.
We really need wins like this as it provides the confidence for the team which we badly need.
Also the forwards laid the platform and our spine delivered.

Lotto like about tonight’s effort, very hard to find a player to be negative about. I thought when we were in a hole Adam D made a couple of really hard runs out our danger zone. I also thought big Lucy was really enthusiastic all game, but I guess what I liked the most was our no9 rotation. Be interesting to see how we back it up against our bogey side next week

Doueihi seemed to get past the first tackler every time he ran the ball. He’ll be useful close to the line

Yes a good sign as he will only get better with time.
He was safe and solid rather than anything else but that will do me for time being.

4 forwards over 100m

Aloiai 47mins - 15 runs - 149m - 34 pcm

Mikaele 45mins - 10 runs - 105m - 29pcm

Luciano 80mins - 9 runs - 101m - 43 pcm

Twal 80mins - 18 runs - 155m - 50 pcm

Wow! Another heart attack night. Really good win. Courageous and tough. My critical thought is around unforced errors. We make too many dumb errors. Jennings not cutting infield when he went for the corner was nuts. Never a chance. They marched upfield and scored and momentum shifted. Rowdy dropped ball could have been vital. Doueihi running the touch line same. When we don’t make unforced errors we usually compete well.
Back to being positive: a really tough win against a team that at half time would have been confident.
Oh yeah - to the Brooks baggers: he makes a difference to us don’t you think?

Stats from tonight

The backs punched out some impressive numbers with the exception of Mbye.

Aloiai, Leilua and Twal all cracking well over 100m, I can't remember the last time that happened.

Joey Leilua looked so good running the ball out of our own end. He’s yet to see some early ball near the try line, it needs to happen.

I'd even consider swapping Mbye and Leilua. Defensively Mbye has been strong and our attack always favours the left. I'd love to see Leilua getting some clean, early ball off of Brooks.

Ah explains it nrl.com has different numbers...I think Fox update later on something to do with Supercoach

So Nofoaluma whist running backwards still makes the most m in our team..

One things for sure, I'm glad we don't have Woods in our team. He looks bog average most weeks, plays with very little heart and ruined their captains challenge tonight. Hope Aaron realises what happened to his career after He left us.

I was disappointed after the 1st half
Up 10 nil to trail 16 -10
I thought the Tigers of old were back
It was good to hold them scoreless in the second half while putting on 18 points

Back to the future
Tigers of 2005

I'm sure many thought we'd cave in... crossed my mind

One thing I don’t think has been mentioned- we looked very fit. Everyone has come back in good condition. Pretty impressive

That is a focus area for Madge and the reason Musgrove wasn't picked so I was hoping that would be the case and you are right. We looked liked we could have kept playing.

He doesn’t have the brain cells.

Super impressed with Grant. From his service and decision making to his defence, just a classy player. Walters was very good in his limited time too - he had flashes in the first two rounds of being a potentially dynamic runner out of dummy half. Him being able to have a run while fresh against a tired defensive line will give us a huge edge.

Doueihi's going to give us at the least solid FB play. I'd like to see him improve a bit at 2nd/3rd receiver on the backline plays. Once that comes we'll have a real gun back there.

Can't complain with the starting forwards and the backline. Nofoaluma doing Nofoaluma things and Joey's effort this week was much improved. Jennings and Mbye is an incredibly boring 3/4 pairing but they don't make mistakes and will do everything we expect them to. Can't complain even if they're overpaid for what they do.

I think our bench could be structured a bit better. Not sure why Musgrove was dropped (assuming fitness) but if he can reach full fitness again, I'd like to see him on the bench for Clark. We just struggled making metres and lost the yardage battle which let the Sharks get on top of us.

Assuming Chee-Kam wasn't picked for similar reasons. Love what Lawrence has done for us over the years, but I just don't see the point of him being there for a 15-20 minute appearance. Chee-Kam was made for that role and given the new rules, could potentially be lethal if used alongside Walters.

Seyfarth was unremarkable. I guess he's worth persisting with at this point, but I'd be ok if Eisenhuth came in for him. Seyfarth is the future though so might as well keep going.
