Brain dead.
but but but but........."energy"...."***ENERGY!!!*** .
One of the dumbest footballers Ive seen and should not be in a playmaking position. Part time dummy half(pick up and pass) is his only value to this team IMO.
Agreed. He dropped the ball dead of the kick off in the first few minutes after our first try. That kick and also racing off the line in defence leaving the remainder of the right side defence way back. ***You expect better from an $800k player***.
I dont unfortunately, and Ive been saying this since day 1. Many here are enamoured by his "great guy" persona (also not genuine) and his energy, "buzz" and niggle...but I just picture Maguire sitting REynolds down to explain the game plan to him and REynolds staring at him wide eyed going "yep...yep.....yep" and going out there like an 18month old puppy and racing out of the line, kicking early and doing whatever the hell he wants because he learnt that "energy" and buzz gets you picked in SOO.
Seriously ? Benji can’t tackle . Has never been able to tackle that effectively . Defence wins games . We have shown we can score points with or without benji. It’s especially worse now because benji clearly has lost that lateral mobility. It happens! I feel like josh was looking to shift momentum with those kicks . I get it. But sometimes you need to grind the momentum back. He clearly saw an opening that closed as quickly as it opened.
Energy is hugely important . Especially when things are going against you. A charge down , a tackle one on one in goal , a huge hit , a forced mistake . These things are unquantifiable.
I was one to scratch my head as to whether those kicks should have happened, but I dunno . I’d rather an engaged half than not. Look at the broncos halves or the sharks . Even the bulldogs . They would all scream for a bit of energy right now .
Marshall can tackle when he puts his body in front just as well as a lot of halves..the problem is now at 35 he seems a little apprehensive to do that at times ..I think that is the issue..
There are only 4 halves in the comp that I would consider great defenders ..DCE, Munster, Williams and Luke Brooks the one trait they all have is they put their bodies in front of whoever is coming at them 110kg+ monsters no problem..the rest not so much..
Dylan Brown's missed tackle on Morris in the first Rooster try was awful. Gutherson had a decent opportunity to put him over the sideline as well. Munster would have made the tackle as would have Thurston in his day. I wonder if Mitch gave them a mouthful and ran through with them how the tackles should have been made.
That was so funny to me, as I detest the Eels. After watching Waqa Blake having an absolute blinder against his former club last week, then get schooled by Morris, Keary and Tupou made my night. Also seeing Slimy Fart getting fobbed off.
In fact it was a good match all-around, watching that twerp Flanagan being cross-palmed by Jennings (using his left-arm to fend across his chest to a defender on his right, which literally is a man's weakest strike) and then Sivo bulldoze Tedesco in a single play. Literally I watched that Sivo run 20 times, letting Fox show their 5 replays then going back to the start of the sequence 3 more times.
Geez, you really have it in for our former fullback, but it did make me laugh.
