Reynolds the new king of kicking on the third. Brain dead.

but but but but........."energy"...."***ENERGY!!!*** .

One of the dumbest footballers Ive seen and should not be in a playmaking position. Part time dummy half(pick up and pass) is his only value to this team IMO.

Agreed. He dropped the ball dead of the kick off in the first few minutes after our first try. That kick and also racing off the line in defence leaving the remainder of the right side defence way back. ***You expect better from an $800k player***.

I dont unfortunately, and Ive been saying this since day 1. Many here are enamoured by his "great guy" persona (also not genuine) and his energy, "buzz" and niggle...but I just picture Maguire sitting REynolds down to explain the game plan to him and REynolds staring at him wide eyed going "yep...yep.....yep" and going out there like an 18month old puppy and racing out of the line, kicking early and doing whatever the hell he wants because he learnt that "energy" and buzz gets you picked in SOO.

Seriously ? Benji can’t tackle . Has never been able to tackle that effectively . Defence wins games . We have shown we can score points with or without benji. It’s especially worse now because benji clearly has lost that lateral mobility. It happens! I feel like josh was looking to shift momentum with those kicks . I get it. But sometimes you need to grind the momentum back. He clearly saw an opening that closed as quickly as it opened.
Energy is hugely important . Especially when things are going against you. A charge down , a tackle one on one in goal , a huge hit , a forced mistake . These things are unquantifiable.
I was one to scratch my head as to whether those kicks should have happened, but I dunno . I’d rather an engaged half than not. Look at the broncos halves or the sharks . Even the bulldogs . They would all scream for a bit of energy right now .

Marshall can tackle when he puts his body in front just as well as a lot of halves..the problem is now at 35 he seems a little apprehensive to do that at times ..I think that is the issue..

There are only 4 halves in the comp that I would consider great defenders ..DCE, Munster, Williams and Luke Brooks the one trait they all have is they put their bodies in front of whoever is coming at them 110kg+ monsters no problem..the rest not so much..

Dylan Brown's missed tackle on Morris in the first Rooster try was awful. Gutherson had a decent opportunity to put him over the sideline as well. Munster would have made the tackle as would have Thurston in his day. I wonder if Mitch gave them a mouthful and ran through with them how the tackles should have been made.

That was so funny to me, as I detest the Eels. After watching Waqa Blake having an absolute blinder against his former club last week, then get schooled by Morris, Keary and Tupou made my night. Also seeing Slimy Fart getting fobbed off.

In fact it was a good match all-around, watching that twerp Flanagan being cross-palmed by Jennings (using his left-arm to fend across his chest to a defender on his right, which literally is a man's weakest strike) and then Sivo bulldoze Tedesco in a single play. Literally I watched that Sivo run 20 times, letting Fox show their 5 replays then going back to the start of the sequence 3 more times.

Geez, you really have it in for our former fullback, but it did make me laugh.

I'm super happy with that performance. We won by 16. Any other time we'd be jumping up and down, but for some reason it's not good enough. Just enjoy the win you blokes.

Yea they scored 4 tries , an intercept , a flukey marsters flick pass off the back of con seductive penalties , and 2 kicks . In a second half where we got token penalties and lost the run of the green. Not ref bashing but , it is what it is. We won and we played poor for 40 mins . I’m ok with that. It means there will be no complacency into next weeks game .

Mate, there's people in here that would hate Reynolds if he scored 50 points per game. The bloke set up most of our tries and gets that right side flying. We're beating a side by 34 points and people are bagging him. What about Twal giving away repeat sets on 5th tackle for leg pulling when the ref is screaming in his ear. His racing up out of the line didn't cost us one point and in fact unsettled the Cowboys attack. Madge's focus is defence, do they think he would cop Reynolds doing that if he wasn't happy with it? Give the bloke a break. The two games he's started we were unlucky against the probable grand finalists and we get out to a 30 point lead before injuries took out our two best forwards. Yeah, bring Benji back.

Yeah, Reynolds rushed up, but very quickly and only enough to put pressure on the spread, whilst not leaving enough gap for Drinkwater to capitalise upon. The Twal penalties, particularly the holding the leg up for seconds after being called upon to release was hair pulling crazy and a real WTForum moment for me, though as was Reynolds stupid 3rd tackle kick.

Yea like I said , I sort of get what Reynolds was doing with those kicks . He saw an opportunity to swing the game back to us, it either was poorly executed , or the gap closed as soon as it opened or both . It was the definition though of an all or nothing play.
But whatever he’ll go away and look at it , takes his licks And be back next week. I can’t see benji taking the 6 off him, no matter how he’s people want to picket for it .
We won , and played really well last week . The consistency is getting there , and if we can see it , so can Madge.
Also as a side note , LOL to the DrOp BrOoKs campaign. It was obvious he was our premier half . Despite his lack of opportunities in the past few weeks .

Yeah, There's no way you can have Benji and Reynolds on at the same time. Whether you like Brooks or not, we need that steady hand out there. Imagine Reynolds and Benji doing hail Mary plays every 2nd set. Madge would be real impressed. It just seems like JR and Benji can't maintain composure and have to deviate.

The issue for me is not having JRey in the team - it’s the role he plays. Yes he brings energy and puts his body on the line In defence but a key part of his role is to be responsible for the right side attack. He is at his most effective when running the ball and using his step. He doesn’t have the skill set Benji does in attack in terms of setting up his outside players and this makes it easier for teams to defend against us.

I also think it’s a large ask by Madge to have Harry Grant play a full 80 at this stage of his career. I’d therefore have JRey on the bench to provide energy from the bench and rotate between Benji, JRey and Grant. Also, I think the service JRey provides from dummy half needs work as well.

MBye didnt even jump, hes not a winger obviously.

It was a bad move by Madge - Mbye should have stayed in the centre and MCK on the wing.

Mbye was playing well in the centre and MCK is taller for the kicks.

I have to say and I was one that also said Brooks needs time on the pine after the Tiatans game, however,I see in the last 2 games Raiders and Cowboys that Lukes game has definitely opened up especially last night when he runs the ball....
I will make a statement now "Benji has been choking the kid for to long,he is playing better with Grub alongside of him,I will take all the critics sprays but I think I have a point...

The anti Brooks campaign was even gaining some traction amongst those that would normally be much more reasonable in their assessment, but I suppose we have to allow for the club legend being dropped effect and that can affect the judgement of many of us, if not all.

Still, I was disappointed in the structure put forward last week and happy to see a more expansive game plan yesterday, especially a bit of width for our middle, instead of just robotically sending our forwards up close to the ruck to get mauled.

Do you really think he is doing this without the coaches instructions??its a tactic when the opposition is looking tired you boot it down to there far corner so all there forwards struggle to get back and you keep them down there for the set the get the ball on the next set in great attacking position

I see Russ is on fire today with his evaluation of some of our players...

Jennings was looking forward to Russ visiting him last night while he was having scans...

Let’s be real tho we lost our most consistent forward and a winger

Well, most consistent forward anyway.

Russ I know how fond you are of Jennings as a player, but last night he was doing rather well than some of his previous displays..

Alex Twal off with right knee injury. Video limited but concern for MCL/meniscus injury with tackler landing on lower leg, matches ice positioning. ACL can also be under stress here, hopefully avoided.
Likely best case: mid grade MCL/meniscus injury (3-6 weeks)

Robert Jennings off with a left hamstring injury whilst scoring a try, reportedly felt/heard a “pop”. Full speed injury mechanism brings concern for mid-high grade hamstring injury, if confirmed would likely be at least 4 weeks return to play

Thank God, hopefully 6 weeks.

AND, he did it to himself! Lol.

I know, all credit to him. He was only sub standard, instead of pathetic.
