How is Martin planning any jaunts to Tokyo…....so does that mean we're gunna spend up to the Cap for 2010.....

Lote would be OK but Props would be better..........

Lote will be "OK"???

It might just be me, but I get the feeling that some people on this forum can't be pleased, no matter what we do. You have to remember that we are a chance of signing on of the country's best athletes, a dual international with the personality to suit who will not only put bums on seats, but add another x-factor to our already potent backline.

And I honestly don't think our front row stocks are as bad as people perceive them to be. Galloway, Gibbs, Payten with plenty of experience, and Fifita, Woods, Gower, Shirnack coming through the ranks, I see that as enough depth. We can't really afford to have 3/4 rep props in the side, particularly when we have the best hooker in the comp, one of the best 5/8's, second rowers and centres in the comp, and the possibility of a dual international.

IMO…Lote Tiqiri may be a duel international one of the finest athlete's but he has a major flaw....Lote is in it for Lote,,,,,personally I dont like the whole Union dismisal gets his settlement then off to France to get away as it seems then play the off season and welcomed back by the NRL cause he will put bums on seats and has a personality....but that's just me....if he does sign with us I wont be complaining as long as he doesn't get bored and puts in 100% for the Wests Tigers.....

As far as Front row depth goes on paper it may seem as we do but we need to have an injury free fairytail run otherwise 2010 will end up like 09, 08, 07 and 06....Woods and Fafita are a few years away as far as First grade props go ....When Galloway, Gibbs and Payten went down this year especially Galloway we never recovered.....and that was with Farah, Marshall et al in the team so to say we have enough depth on the surface may appear so in reality we are 2 decent front rowers short in my opinion....Tuimavave from the Warriors as an example became available did we even show any interest...No

what makes you say he is in it for himself? He could just as easily go and spend the whole time in France playing rugby.

That post made a lot of sense. You need to post more often. Well said.

I'm sure Sheens would have Lote taking pressure off the forwards just like Tuiaki does. It's great to have players like that in the backline.

According to smh, Jason Ryles is off to the roosters. Would this mean they won't play for tuqiri - looking at it from a dollars perspective? I know popular belief is that salary cap rules don't apply to the roosters.

From his twitter:

Samsikas - hey lote come on bro benjy robbie and the tank need your skills and help to bring back the trnrl trophy to Balmain!

Lote @samsikas hey mate, they play a great style don't they? We'll see bud..

Least he likes our style of play : >

They have also today announced the signing of Phil Graham,
more evidence they may not make a play a lote?

**Bayonne pulls out of Tuqiri talks**
23:51 AEST Mon Sep 14 2009

French first division club Bayonne have pulled out of talks with dumped Wallabies winger Lote Tuqiri because of his "latest financial demands".

"Following the latest financial demands of Lote Tuqiri, Bayonne have decided to bring talks with the Australian player to an end," the Top 14 club said in a statement.

The 29-year-old Tuqiri was last month cut by the Australian Rugby Union halfway through a five-year contract reportedly worth $US588,000 ($A681,937) a year for undisclosed reasons.

The 67-Test veteran winger came to France at the end of August to discuss a possible contract with Bayonne and also the Paris-based Stade Francais.

if french rugby doesnt meet his financial demands what chance do we have.

i dont think its money exactly, i think it more with money to play over there. he has stated that he wants to stay in sydney and i think it would take alot of money for him to move over there. if a team in sydney can offer him 200-250k i think he would stay as opposed to 400-500k to up root his family overseas to a foreign country for 2 years.

more of a chance.. i assume he'd want a big pay packet if he was too uproot his young family from sydney and move to france.

At least if he gets 200k or so here it compensates with him staying in sydney

damn anderson in before me lol

Exactly.

If he joined us he wouldn't have to move anywhere
