Whats not to like about signing Lote…..he is a weapon.Big fast and strong, can fill centre/wing/FB,and would put bums on seats as he is a big star!!!!Im drooling at the thought of him steaming off Farah?Marshall........yum yummmmmms!!

And he lives in Balmain........its a perfect fit for mine.

ANd for the "we need forwards" brigade,I reckon Dwyer and Fifita are ready for firsts, they have been outstanding all year and Dwyer proved he is ready for firsts buy playing there and going very well. Why buy what we already have????

I would like to think Fifita can step up,but geez the gap between TC and NRL is a gulf, only exceptional talent make it,lets hope our big boppers are exceptional.

Lote would bring a lot more to the club besides his playing ability. This club has struggled to sign big name players and perhaps there is a perception that we are not a club that big name players go to. Sure we have grown a few of our own but Lote would be the biggest signing this club has ever made and the biggest for the NRL in 2010\. He would bring a lot of credibility to the club IMO.

Weve got credibility, they already go ''ooooohhh'' and ''aaaaaahhhh'' about us when we spread it wide….just never in the month of September though.
He will just add to an alreadfy unbalanced team, seems very unproffesional we are focussing on an area thats pretty well covered and ignoring areas where we are weak, that said ....getting in GOOD GUYS each week seems more a priority than the way we play compared to the rest of the comp.
Everyone goes ga ga at our game , we are playing a different game to everyone else yet the last four years have shown its not a game thats ultimately successful, pretty but inneffective.

actually fullback isnt covered for next year, so if hes intended for that spot then i dont see the problem with it

Why should there be a problem.

Lote's top player, and we want top players yeah??

Peeps are whingeing that we arent goping for class,we do and he isnt the right fit????…...puhlease.

Unbelievable!

The same grizzling, old hard on's complaining about us not getting a supposed marquee signing, are now dissatisfied with the club going after Lote Tuquiri.

I'm certain some of you just aren't happy unless you have something to [This word has been automatically removed] about.

Recruitment needs to be looking at players who will get us to the finals - and help win us a few of them.

Lote might be a 'marquee' signing but he won't get us to the finals, nor are the positions he can play are we necessarily weak in. That and the price tag attached to him is why it would be in our best interests to let this one pass.

ok then

so what ONE Player is going to get us to the finals.. last i heard the game is a team sport… so in other words a ONE Player isnt going to get us there..
Having a player like Lote in the team will build the confidence of the younger players.. playing along side him will be for some a chance for them to shine..

he can attack the line, he is strong enough to.. he can make the busts and so on.. i for one would love him.. but realisticly, and people need to open their eyes.. we wont get him.. no one in their right mind will give away over $500000 a year in loss earnings when he may only have 3 or 4 years left in his carrer.. anyone who thinks otherwise is in serious denial...

:unamused: he didnt say ''ONE player" …but dont let that stop you

ANDERSON:-fullback may not be covered in your opinion, but the coach has stated numerous times Moltzen will be good there, its covered, much more than the front row is.

This would be the number 1 backline no doubts and nobody could complain

Sorry macca , but Ayshford doesn't excite me in the centres, in actual fact i think he is average, and we surely have better options than Ryan on the wing. but i go along with the rest of yr picks…

Wests Tigers organising third-party sponsors to help lure Lote Tuqiri
By Dean Ritchie
September 18, 2009 .Balmain great Benny Elias has started organising third-party agreements to entice former Wallabies winger Lote Tuqiri to Wests Tigers next season.

Tuqiri will hold another meeting with Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens on Friday.

It is understood the meeting will take place at Balmain Leagues Club.

Tuqiri, though, is still favouring a move to French rugby union club Bayonne.

Sources claim Bayonne have offered Tuqiri a staggering $800,000 a season.

Bayonne this week announced they had shelved plans to sign Tuqiri but it is understood talks have re-opened.

But Wests Tigers will not be deterred by Bayonne with Elias helping to broker a deal to lure the former Brisbane Broncos star to the joint-venture club.

"We are most certainly looking at getting someone involved," Elias said. "I have already had discussions with a potential third party.

"I will forward any details to the club and to (chief executive) Stephen Humphreys and (chairman) Dave Trodden.

"The third party is very interested in working something out. We have to go through the right avenues but obviously a third party would be most welcome. We would love to have Lote here."

Sheens and Tuqiri held their first meeting a month ago.

Tuqiri lives in the Balmain area and is seriously considering a stint with the Tigers, who want him to play at fullback.

But the French money might be an over-riding factor.

"Tim met Lote recently and it was a very good meeting," said Wests Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys.

"We always expected there to be a follow-up meeting. It is more a football-related meeting. It isn't a meeting whether negotiations will take place."

Hope Lote stays in Sydney and joins the Tigers, would so really exciting having him in NRL again.

Could it be….....finally something real from the CEO....

Now I'm excited....
