Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

Jeebus, there is alot of dribble in this thread of late...

Brooks is a fine player, though he isnt a leader, same way Marshal couldnt play 7 for the life of him. Responsibility isnt for everyone.

Fully fit, AD and Toa in the centres provide extra options, footballers and strike multipliers.

Brooks isnt bad, he was misused. Anyone who couldnt see the scumbag Moses directing from 6 was blind.

Luke Brooks denies ever requesting a release from Wests Tigers

Wests Tigers playmaker Luke Brooks emphatically denies he ever requested a release from the club over the off-season.

It was widely reported Brooks had asked the Concord club at least twice to let him cut his contract short so he could take up an offer from Newcastle, after the Knights let Mitchell Pearce go.

Those requests were denied, according to the numerous reports, and the 27-year-old remained at Concord.

He was asked directly by 9News reporter Danny Weidler whether he had asked to leave the club.

"Did you ask twice to get out of the club in the off-season?" Weidler asked.

"No," Brooks replied.

Weidler asked if anyone representing Brooks asked the club for a release, to which he again replied only, "no".

Brooks is one of the most maligned players in the NRL, having so far failed to live up to the considerable hype that was built around him as a teenager.

But he is now used to being criticised by club outsiders, and says he doesn't let himself get effected by the negativity.

"Not really to be honest. There's plenty of stuff that has been written about me," he said.

"I don't really care.

"That's something I learned pretty early coming into first grade, everyone is going to have an opinion on you," he said.

"I learned to deal with that pretty early, it's all part of the game."

😂😂😂

Yeah OK... we believe you.

I think if Luke Brooks asked twice for a release over Xmas the tigers would have let him go if it cost them zero , you can’t keep a player in first grade who does not want to play for the club , it would be crazy , I also think these low life grub reporters who make shit up all the time sometimes find a soft target and really bash the guts out of it , also what would his team mates think of him asking to leave twice , you would be dirty on him , it don’t look like that when he scores a try of kicks a field goal , I call bullshit , Read , Kent , Sloshfiled , All Grubs at the highest of level , I would be happy to,extend Brooks if he and Jacko form a slick combo , add Adam back in at Centre and an injury free Blore we be right

On Doueihi, 13 will be his most effective position long term.
However having him play 6 and centre the past couple of years he would be best off staying out wide and transitioning to an edge back rower.
I’m not sure his running game would be as effective in the middle of the field, and he still has the option from that spot to link with a sweeping half / fullback or a short ball to the right centre.
That’s my Sheensius call for the day.
Break the system, go away from the dedicated ball playing lock and have a ball playing team. In the middle and both edges.
I’d really consider 11. Papali’i 12. Doueihi and 13. Joffa as our backrow next year.
When he finally gets back on the field (and if he can stay there long enough), he will need to prove his worth to the team before he is considered in any position. The fact he can kick goals is another point in his favour. Hope he come good.
