The drop ball from the kick off when everything is on the line, says it all.

Kinda says he is feeling the entire weight of a failing club on his shoulders, and he doesn’t have the confidence to rise above it.

Or the ability.

If Ivan and Mick Potter had Brooks playing some good football, how come Madge has turned his performances into poo?

Could be because his head is fried. This Luke Brooks looks like a player worn down by the pressure of his job. He has lost all his cockiness and spring in his step. he looks mentally drained.

Not saying that is the coaches doing, more just a player who hasnt been able to deliver on the expectation.

Pretty easy to blame Brooks, but all the brooks bashing has ALWAYS had echoes of other common issues, now we are hearing the whole team has attitude problems, ppl want Madge gone, etc.
It’s the same story.
Wish we could see brooks in a stable team with a stable coach and strong team attitude, then we may actually see the real brooks.
To lay blame on Brooks is ignorant, this club needs to really take a look at itself.

Brooks wasn’t the problem.

Our line speed in defence, both left and right edges and dare I say it bad positional play by Laurie at full back cost us the game.

Brooks and AD did everything they could to keep us in that game.

If we don’t fix our linespeed for 80mins we are no chance, our defence is crap .

Laurie was everywhere. He saved quite a few tries?

The kid is great and did save some no doubt, but his positional play at times is not quite there yet. The Drinkwater try he did not turn with Drinkwater, he watched and jogged back across the park hence he was late. There was another try where instead of covering the spread he stepped into the line and they scored of a grubber..

In attack I don’t recall seeing him in support in any line breaks. Teddy, paps are almost always there.

Again he is great and this is not about him but these are the one percenters that make are the difference between a win and a loss for a team.

We could highlight many of our players but I used Laurie as an example because he is a crowed favourite and imo he played some part in our loss.

I would like for brooks to have more than one effective kick this week. Maybe force a dropout or simply just drop the high kick on the try line. Will go a big way to winning if we can force repeat sets and build pressure

Doueihis kicks are good but he can't be so reliant on them, eels quickly figured out the strategy was give it to Adam.

He’s played 150 games, surely it’s more than 2 effective kicks

2 effective kicks that lead to TRIES last 2 games will do every week..could have been 3 if Doueihi caught it when Fergo went on his gallop..

hmmmm. back to regular programming from Brooks

Spot on, for many weeks he is getting caught out of position in the back. Watch the quality fullbacks and you'll see how much running they do on the goal line not cantering.

Not dousing he's a talent, but he has alot of work ahead to hit that next level

He’s played like 5 games at NRL level. He’s doing well and learning.

100% mate, ran off when told they were gutless.

If they have something constructive to state, then fine, but when they returned to the field after the break, I watched a half control the team and do pretty well everything that his detractors have complained about.

Yet they still attack and I have been much more disappointed with some posters that I normally respect, both for their personality (online) and opinions, than any of our WT players.

Looks like the club are getting the knives ready to make him a sacrifice to the rugby league gods. Personally, I think the gods require a bloodbath and one scalp won't change anything.

The spine are fine imo, we pretty much score whenever we look interested for 2 or 3 tackles in a row. Could Luke be doing better? Well he has to own his errors but within the structure of the team I don't think he could do a lot better than the last 3 weeks - I would say in the context of his career he is playing slightly above his average.

Whether I think it's good enough is not important, nor is the opinion of any other forumite (sorry dudes and dudettes). My question is if the big wigs aren't happy with him currently why do keep extending and upgrading him based on similar evidence? We have signed him 3 or 4 times now right?

So angry at the club. We need to compete in defence when things don't go our way - that simple. I hate heartless teams and am still disgusted today.

At this stage I would say Mbye, Madden is not the answer and Walters is injured
