MAD MONDAY...

If this 'story' has Rothfield and Ayoub attached to it, then how can it possibly be anything but 100% true. Those two have integrity dribbling from their pockets, fine upstanding men that they are.

All we need is someone like, say, solicitor Chris Murphy or something to verify which would make it absolutely truth.

And now plan b involves the obligatory attempt to discredit the reputations of those allegedly responsible for the leak.

The sobering news is Sam Ayoub has another very important client at our club.

According to a snippet in today's paper during the mad Monday celebrations the Tigers were slagging Taylor off with some of their songs they were singing.

If this was the case then it would seem that Taylor does not have any respect within the team. I could not imagine this happening with Bennett, Robinson, Bellamy etc even Stuart for that matter.

I am sure some on here will point the finger at Farah, but I think there are more deep rooted issues within this club not just Farah.

Well isn't this the exact reason JT wants the change. Player power. No respect for authority.

If this story in the tele is true, which I really doubt, then JT is slowly getting my respect. I have had an absolute gutful of players always knowing better than the coach and not showing an ounce of respect.

Respect for authority? Taylor needs to earn the respect for authority, not just expect it. And, after all, it's just someone's interpretation of a snippet (that may not be true) in the most rubbish journal of them all…. Rupert's Daily Joke.

…and who says he is just expecting to be respected?
Players dont have to love their coach, they dont have to be mates with him....but they all need to be on the same page and buy into the team and clubs ethos....if we go by what appears to have happened just after mid year and by media reports, players went to the coach with concerns of the gameplan, coach listened to the players (ie: respect from coach to players) and was flexible enough to change....yet we still have these inferences and innuendo that the coach expects everything and gives nothing

Plan B? Obligatory attempt to discredit their reputations?

Their 'reputations' were in place well before I came along.

If the players hated the coach so much….............why was their effort in the majority of games this year?

For a team so hating the coach they clearly put in more effort the final 7 games this year than last year.

It bemuses me a bit saying players put in more effort at the back end of this year compared to last year.

From memory last year we had Akouloua and Patterson playing on the wing, we had no players left.

This year we finished ok but did get touched by by the Sharks, beat by the wooden spooners and have the dragons score 30 against us.

I didn't see it as a great improvement at all to be honest.

Can't call Ryan Tandy to get an opinion nowadays either, after he was used and hung out to dry.

so you saw effort did you at the back end of last year?

I think if you were to go back and have a look at those games, you may feel differently

Wouldn't worry too much about that one. He's his own man I think that's fairly well evident considering what happened

I really do not see what the problem is ….you have a group of grown adults dressing up as who knows what getting plastered and acting like 3 year olds that is how I preseve Mad Monday .All of a sudden it is some thing totally different, one thing I have learnt as I have gotten older the more people make a big deal of something that actually something was the right choice ,some twisted people with there noses out of joint one thinks , and a conduit for there toxic mentality to be expressed ..very poor form but not unexpected the sooner this comes to an end the better.

We dogged it last year

There was none of that this year, despite some blowout scores

. Second rowers on the wing and huge injuries a factor for me.

DIdn't they win their last game?

If Teddy wasnt there this year would be have been turned over a lot more?

Bit too easy to say we dogged it last year. I thought we dogged it at Shark Park this year, with a fully fit side we were awful.

Its not about injuries or players out of positions, or even results….its attitude, having a REAL go

imo that has improved this year...wether you think its easy or not, its my opinion

Remember the game Eddie , 6 point ball game (either 22-16 or 24-18 ) and they miss the blatant 40/20

Sharks scored on that set of six

so, somehow, playing Akauola on the wing twice and Paterson on the wing twice in those last 8 matches (not at the same time either)….........and we won the last game with Akauola on the wing, that was the sole cause of getting flogged?

Yeah we had some backline injuries, missing Teddy and Nofo, but for most of the back end of last year, no one looked to have any real interest in playing.

This year has been a difference in that department, for the most part, the players appear to have been giving it a go...................the for and against appears to suggest it too, a tad better than last year.

I agree with snake. Even if the players did make up songs having a dig at the coach, what is the big drama? I certainly wouldn't read too much into it. It doesn't necessarily exhibit any lack of respect. I would imagine that the coach is the easiest of targets at functions like Mad Monday and that many of the players would have worn it as well, particularly Galloway and Richards.
Like others, I'd be more concerned with who leaked the story trying to stir the pot.

Sticky banned Mad Monday last season for All grades at the Raiders.
Didn't seem to reflect poorly on him?

His reasoning was when they had something to celebrate, they were welcome to it.
- Not sure what his stance is on it this year….

If it is not a big drama, why would you be concerned about who leaked the story?

Simply put, just about everywhere I go the rule is; what happens in the….....stays in the....... From my experience, a bunch of blokes letting their hair down expect that rule to be honoured. Leaking that story is a low act pure and simple, because it lets everyone on the team down.
I'm also concerned about the leak because, while the singing of childish songs is no big deal, leaking it to the media indicates an agenda of undermining the team.
I wonder who would stand to gain from that?

Just another story ( sounds like a fairytale to me) for the Taylor "haters" to vent.

I don't know about you but the last thing I would be doing is going out with a lot of drunken young blokes.

I would be interested to know (for certain) that other coaches frolicked with their charges on their "mad mondays".
