Not sure if any of you watched Bennet's press conference. Very, very interesting. He basically said that the media blame the players for these huge blowout scores, but the main problem is with the management of some clubs. He said it is much deeper than blaming the players and suggested a toxic workplace will lead to underperforming in any work environment.. Worth watching if you haven't seen it.

Very interesting.........Souffs have 50 put on them twice this year, maybe he should worry about his own backyard.

He did that’s why there top 4 , we on the other hand?

Not defending ( excuse the pun) nofa at all but watch Lucy and mybe inside him … they have no idea

Now a winger usually takes the option of the guys inside him whether that be jam in or slide out … with these 2 inside him he had no idea today
Again not defending him but you need to take a look at the other 2 muppets and you can see that whole edge is in trouble as soon as mybe makes it doesn’t make the decision

And how does fan favourite Douehei escape critisism. He is absolutely clueless in defence and even when he has them lined up he's 50/50. He's a cat. Sorry Demps, I know you want him as captain but he's hopeless.

I've also got plenty of issues with his defence, but in no way can I agree that Doueihi is anywhere near worthy of being called a cat.

At least Maguire called us out in the presser and didn't go close to mentioning ebbs and flows. Asked for 'men' who wanted to play in the team and said he would look at the team. First of his in a while where he actually said something.

I thought it was the first presser where he sounded like a coach and actually put some sentences together that weren’t one cliche after another. He sounded pissed but like many on here I too don’t think he’ll make wholesale changes.

He needs to make some changes,or his career will follow the same path as Potter/Taylor...nowhere!!

It was pretty obvious in the dressing room prior to the game the players weren't listening to him. That's the end for Maguire.

Yeah, very noticeable. He gave a rev up, he even demonstrated the old 'find your shoulder' technique...and not a single one of them bounced up. They all looked half asleep.

Walters have the Broncs the same speech and some of them were bouncing off the walls after it.

His style just does not work anymore. They need a coach who can improve their techniques and offer real game plans.

They must have listened to his half time speech?
The Rabbits are a top 4 team, there backline is far superior than ours, surely no one thought these last 4 games were winnable?
We have half a team full of kids and some who are just cruising, I mean our little FB was our best player for us today? Getting rid of the bludgers won't be easy atm.

You are delusional, we have conceded 154 points in our last 3 games, including 40 in one half, Madge has lost the sheds, and lost the plot, he needs to go now.
We are no superstar side, but we are far better than the results, seriously mate are you related to Madge

If Madge has lost the sheds then we need new sheds aka players, not a new coach. The players have been doing this for a decade with consecutive coaches and getting away with it. No more I say. Sack the players, not the coach.

You may have some points @Blacknwhite ...but is Madge doing this to make a point on how bad our playing roster actually is .....

What is Madge doing exactly? Telling them to go out there and puss out in tackles? Encouraging them to drop the ball and give away stupid penalties?

OK .....obviously we have a lot of sub par players ...many he may not want

So just keep picking them every week .......and then point your finger at those responsible every week ...."you signed these knobs "

Then Madge makes the club accountible ....they sack him and 90% of those in the know ...realize it is simply club politics ..yet again

Pascoe can't sack Madge without looking like a complete tosser ....same goes for Lee ...they've backed him to the hilt ...supposedly

Is he resigning? Taking a break? Retiring?

Something's got to give, we are going backwards under him & struggle to attract first graders

Yes ...but if thats the case you pick the KOE players to prove they aren't the future of the club

Maguire shares his disappointment following Leichhardt loss

Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire has shared his frustrations following his side’s loss to South Sydney on Sunday afternoon.

The home side trailed by 26 points at half-time before rallying in the second half to reduce the deficit to 16 points.

"I need to find men who are accountable for what we are doing. It's not acceptable for where we are going as a club," Maguire said.

"Our start looked like a training run for Souths. It was very disappointing to see us start like that.”

Although Maguire was disappointed with the result, he’s confident the club is still heading in the right direction.

“I think the club is in really good shape to be able to take us to where want to get to," Maguire said.

"I talk to everyone around the organisation and we have been through a fair bit together.

"I have a really good group of young men who are really hungry to take the Wests Tigers forward.

"We have to do a lot of recruiting in that space in the last 12 months.

"Those young guys the more games they play and the more often they're out on the field, they are going to improve."

Not without a decent coach and someone to explain what they are doing wrong, and what needs to be done they won't

You can call for his head for alot of reasons... But this game isnt one of them.

4 times Mbye was run behind because he, and only he, chose to defend into the middle of the park planting his feet and turning his shoulders into the middle, and singularly created an overlap. Only once was the try disallowed because Reynolds stepped out.

Twice Dewy did the same.

A desperation offload within our own 20m, yet not a single player desperate enough to jump on the ball. Play the ball errors in our 20m...

If we sack Madge we let these players off... problem is, we need to build these players or pay them to ride the pine. The cupboards are bare, well they arent entirely, but we dont need the future born into this sort of world, we dont want them to know apathy.

Madge might not be the answer. I personally doubt he can fully turn us around. Though I do believe he can be the coach who breaks them down to hand a competent and malleable squad over to the next coach.

Make or break the squad, they are mentally weak. Moving Madge on allows the players to shift responsibility to a man no longer with the orginisation. They need to find accountability down to the player.

So you're saying...

Sack Madge... and the players?

?
My man.... it's genius!

No... I am saying sacking Madge puts all the accountability on him, lets the players off.

We can take the easy road, and give the players a pass, or we can let Madge sort the wheat from the chaff and hand over a competent squad. Continuing with Madge means we put the accountability on the roster. They either learn resilience by fire, or break. We have a handful of players who are somewhat competent, a couple that find fault by trying too hard, and others who wilt entirely under pressure finding default ability resonant to the lowest common denominator ie. once the pooch is screwed they put on a rubber and wait in line to bang us harder.

A new coach wont give us mental toughness, no pep talk will lift our worst efforts, no pat on the bum will take away our weakness under pressure. Its a rough road to beat this into players. Let Madge do it, we see glimpses of it, that means the players understand what they are coached, and its their application as players that is the issue.

New coach 5th time around... if I failed 4 times at something, i wouldnt be excited for the next round having any different outcome.

Great post Blacknwhite,
I agree wholeheartedly with your comment. If a Bellamy or Bennett were ready willing and able then maybe let Madge go.
I mentioned in a previous post weeks ago who is available now or next year that could come in and turn it around? Get more than 3 hitups a game out of Roberts? Turn Gardner into anything more than a plodder? Strengthen our edge defence?

Morris? Josh Hannay? Please... Let Madge weed out the rubbish I say

And he will just bring in more rubbish, after all he is the one who brought in the rubbish you want to throw out

Did anyone see Bennett's presser regarding blame shouldn't always go on players but that it is hard for players to play in a toxic environment.

Have to agree with him. Obviously, players aren't blameless but I'm sure we have all worked in places with toxicity. Unfortunately though, most of us don't work under as high a pressure and don't need to put in 150% physically to get the job done.

Players are half arsing. We can all see it. They're looking at the end date of their contracts like they look at the half time whistle at the 20 minute mark. They can't wait to get out of here.
