Better to get rid of him now rather than mid season next year.

I agree with this. I like Madge but next year is not going to change things. Make the move now or in two years.

That’s what was or is going to happen the stake holders of the club do not deserve this scenario. This

Ciraldo seems Penrith centric and I see Cleary lasting another season .. another shot then bring in Ciraldo no use bringing someone that’s heart is somewhere else ! Maguire still needs to get punted yet !

Ivan will be there a while. Won’t wanna upset chin jr.

If Cleary misses out again next season with no premiership
thats 3 seasons in the premiership window .. Ciraldo for 2023 one thinks Cleary Jr will be on a million by then and they all love Ciraldo apparently.

I can’t see it working out that way.

That could be the case .. if so Ciraldo must be waiting for a better offer than the Tigers ,considering these opportunities do not come around that often maybe he sees himself as a professional assistant still top $ with out the stress or the ramifications!

He probably is waiting for a better offer, but that doesn’t mean at the Panthers. There are 15 better options than us. He probably only needs to bide his time for another 12 months or so and the right role will come along. Probably won’t be long till the Broncos are looking for a new coach. That’s a much more stable option than the rabble that is our club.

The article just shows how the game will chew you up and spit you out. The number one take away for me is look after your money. It’s not about what you earn, it’s what you save.

That is the tone of the article, and that the poor bugger is now working in the mines, but it does also spell out that he was earning upwards of $600K a year during that time which incredible money for an untrained, unqualified guy. Probably earning decent $$$ in the mine now as well.

Doesn’t sound like he had brains outside of footy. Everyone telling him it won’t last forever and he was like “yeah yeah whatever”. Sounds like his support system sucked.

Agree and FWIW I dont think Tim was playing the "woe is me" role either but that is the angle the journalist was going for. I think its more "I bought the ticket and enjoyed the ride".

There was an interesting article I read yesterday where Thurston was living off $400 a week and investing the rest despite earning large contracts.

Few stories like your one, Brasher put all his football earnings into real estate, someone told me he owns upwards of 25 places. Their was a front rower played for the dogs and Balmain, Dennis Monte (sorry spelling is wrong) he put every cent into a ten year insurance policy and when he retired he picked up over a million tax free..this was way back probably mid 70s.

Sadly there are also lots who went the other way

@Snake 2 of those 3 seasons were cleaning out Ivan's scrap heap change of culture doesn't happen over 3 years it takes a while to happen too many people are happy to call for the new coach which is going to set things back another 10 years

Im sure im not alone when i say im sick of this merry go round of coaches but its much easier to get rid of a coach then it is players but i think its about time the board have to answer to some problems happening at the club. Our problems are a CULTURE problem not a coaching one if anything madge is the bloke to build a culture at the club

A coach that is moved on after 3 seasons of failure is not a merry go round it’s common sense he just did not work out !

Snake every coach that has been here has failed.
This is the problem. The issue I have is using a coach like Madge or Dean Pay to get results out of a long term development plan is pointless.

Call it for what it is he had no chance and then when the salary cap mess was cleared and some players were developed we buy another 3 years with a new option.

Hopefully they get it right but past track record tells me it’s an ass covering exercise. If Madge, Pascoe, Hartigan and lee are removed then I can see they are serious.

If we sign one of those pommy coaches, my god. Not only are we looking to the ESL because we can’t attract players, but now it’s also cos we can’t attract a coach. If those are our only options, stick with Madge.

Pascoe.........the guy that keeps overseeing this stuff yet seems untouchable.

Let’s see how long after the COE is opened if Pascoe is not also moved on just a hunch !

Wonder what happens if we sack Madge and then get the spoon next season while still being unable to attract players.

Maybe we fold.

Pascoe blames the new coach or the hat salesman

No To Green, no to Flanno and not wrapped in the idea of a ESL coach. Certainly doesn’t leave to many options.
For me it has to be Ciraldo, but if he has said no, what can you do.

Has made a GF and a prelim (possible 2nd GF) and the side is still young and will improve. Suggestions Cleary will be leaving are absolute nonsense.

Can’t see Bennett coming.
Good Rookies would not want close supervision from Sheens.
I think Sheens ego is all over this and it may not end well.
English connections he developed over last years over there may have us getting one of ESL coaches mentioned …. and I don’t believe that is really the way to go to get us anything suitable for our needs.
From the experience bunch Green is a no as far as I’m concerned anyway. Flanagan may be the only man left standing but again, would that be a good fit with Sheens?
Sacking Madge early may prove more a problem than a solution. I would have given him another 6 months.
