What a piss ant club this is if this is the case , the bloke was working with an inferior squad and certainly not his fault we didn’t attract players , the knobheads that run the show here are a disgrace

Agree 100%. This club is just dumb. Throw away a premiership winner who wants to be here and gives his whole heart, just so we can chase some rookie. Absolute joke.

This passion narrative is dumb. For my nba fans out there, Madge is Patrick Beverly. All heart, leaves everything on the court but talent wise he’s junior level and just talks for the sake of talking. The premiership winner narrative is even worse. That was an age ago in modern rugby league at a way better club. His last 5 years in the NRL tells you all you need to know.

Funny as well that everyone quotes madges passion and yet don’t want Paul green to replace him when by all reports he is the exact same coach in terms of style and passion and has also won a premiership ?

and Madge had Burgess Sam and Ignlis plus a much better batch of rookies
Doesn't have that here

I know everything looks like doom and gloom atm but we aren’t that far from success Madge has done a lot of the hard work dealing with salary cap over the last 3 years. we have great young talent comming through and we have plenty of room on the cap for next year if we get a coach that can attract talent we will have far better roster in the near future

Cya later Madge. He promised top 8 when he got here because he was a 'premiership winning' coach. It's been three years and he has moved the goal posts cause the results haven't come. What happened to getting us into the 8? We didn't sign him to rebuild the whole club, does no one remember him saying that he was going to coach us to success cause he was a 'premiership winning coach'? Does no one recognize this?

Look if Madge was getting our defence closer to what he said he would deliver, a solid defensive based team. I would say give him another year ‘cause we’re almost there’.
But we are miles from that point, so sorry Madge it’s time to go....

There are a many comments about the playing group. I would hold fire on any changes to our roster pending the arrival of the new coach. I believe there will be a marked improvement in performance due to a change of delivery, messaging and confidence in the new coach.

Madge should not be getting sacked. Yes, the results and football have not been great. But, seriously, do any of the replacements we are looking at seem viable or at least better than Madge? I would say no to nearly all of them. The only scenario in which I personally would be happy to see Madge being let go is if there is a good coach out there, and if Pascoe and Lee are gone with him. As far as I know, our best option so far is Ciraldo who will most likely decline us, and then we'll go looking for SL coaches who are no where near as good as Madge, all the while Pascoe (who has now oversaw the hiring of 3 coaches) is still here. This club is going backwards

So wat have i missed

I see @WT2K has already given the "did somebody say" answer, which may well be about it.

I switched on, saw a post with a journalist's opinion that there had been a "mood change", skipped a dozen or so pages and landed on this one where I found the need to KFC (keep fecking chucking) again later.

I know our roster isn't great but I don't buy that it was so bad no coach could've got more out of them

There's no way Madge got the best out of our roster at all. The defence and attack was terrible most weeks and a lot of it was down to coaching structures.

I'm of the opinion a better coach could've got us into the top 8, you only needed 10 wins to make it after all.

Ivan had arguably a worse roster and got more out of them (never made finals though so screw him too)

I 100% agree, a different coach and we make the 8 this year, Madge should of realised after last year he needed help, but he went and signed Snoopy and Millard to improve us, he got what he paid for, and that looks like the sack

Yeah some new assistants would be great as well. Whole coaching staff needs to be changed

Disagree. We might get a few wins to start the season with a new coach, but then will fall back to inconsistency and losing games we should win. Same as all the other times we change coaches

Stick with a bloke who’s won an nrl comp and an esl comp or some assistant coach who hasn’t assisted a single gf win, hmmmm tough choices can’t wait for Trent barret v2 bulldogs attack this year was incredible can’t wait for our players to turn around and be defensive brick walls ??

Cut the won the comp crap. So has Paul green and no one wants him anywhere near the club

Let’s go with the assistant coach what could go wrong

Hmm right. Honestly not sure what to think if Madge is gone. By all reports he had the majority of player support, but maybe being told that Ciraldo or someone perceived to be better than Madge changed minds?

I agree. The question has to be asked IF and it's big if, Madge looked like he was going to survive, what has happened in the last 48hrs or so for the mood shift from the Board?

But who said there’s even been a board shift? This whole thing seems to be a whole lot of speculation from the media and fans.

Nothing will change without giving the roster a major overhaul. In saying that the club has been on a steady decline for three years, so I guess Madge was always going to be the target.

That is correct, the next step is to clean out the players who don't want to put in.

Then inspector gadget needs to piss off as well ..
Awfuluma 4 more ?

Yep, Major Sponsor as Chairman is a huge conflict of interest.

It's easy to say get rid of everyone but wouldike to hear and replace with......

Otherwise problems with no solutions

If we punt Lee and his ghastly logo and with sheens coming home ( who is mates with Harry T) you’ll see Meriton back on the jerseys within days … guaranteed

So sheens ceo, GM, board and coaching director

There was that snippet in the media suggesting a Penrith player is waiting to see what's happening with Ciraldo before he decides his future at the Panthers.

Should Maguire go...Will be interesting who the next bloke keeps...could end up having his head called for even before his bum hits the seat..a WTF record..

Yeah but has Green won an ESL comp???
We don’t want just any ole comp winner here

Meh, whatever.

The coach was not the issue.

Yet another bad decisions, but lets see... things can't get worse, can they?

People cry about recruitment but can’t see that we’ve signed:
Future starting origin forward
The best fullback we’ve had since Tedesco
Got one of Queensland’s best hookers into our system and left on a good note opening a potential return from the storm
Got Shaun blore playing 80 minutes well
Had the nsw cup team up in the top 3 off his signings
One of Queensland’s u20s best rated young hookers in Simpkin
The youth this bloke has got us is insane and potentially sets us up well for the next few years what’s the point in these guys staying when they signed for Madge
