Madge Maguire - Mega Thread

**"Actually no, I didn't say anything at half-time"**

Said our coach in his short press conference and more than he did to a shell shocked playing group that the other coach admitted suffered from everything going wrong to start the match and everything going right for his own side.

One coach understood what happened and the other muttered similar words, but seemed to have had virtually no idea, if any, nor how to deal with it and acted accordingly.

He must have figured there’s no point saying anything because they’re not listening. Or if they are, they’re choosing to ignore the message.

Can we just throw all our money at Bellamy? If we have money to sign Sheens and Madge and Noddy and all these other people, why can’t we make Bellamy an offer he cannot refuse?

Rather Bellamy but Bennett is an option given he almost joined us…

I think it was more invoking the spirit of Tommy's coaching.
Tommy once told his Magpies team that were copping their usual flogging that they could all get F'd and walked out of the dressing room.

And if so, then that is a major problem.

That’s only 3 years. Imagine 21 of supporting this club.

Cool meme. Wrong but cool.

The "2019" pic has the ESL logo behind his head so its 2010.

I will just drop this.
James Roberts in a recent interview says "he loves the Tigers and he loves the club".

It's a phrase I am hearing again and again when players mention the Tigers.
Whatever Madge is doing, he is doing this one thing right. The players he is keeping onside.
Even Mbye who was on the outer, is being managed well.

Maybe Madge isn't managing the bench rotation well. Maybe there are tweeks here and there. But if everyone is saying "we like playing at the Tigers", and we are training hard. Then we are building well.

We see how Parra has been torn apart by infighting. We want players to stay with the Tigers and build their careers here. We want people saying were a good club because that will attract talent.

How many years has it taken Brad Arthur at Parra, ? Building takes time. Madge is getting the culture right.

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

On a positive note...

Madge has been looking to strengthen our weaknesses (on the roster) since he got here.

I think we all forget.

He tried to sign Lomax, Latrell, JAC... offered them all the fullback position.
Tried to get Reece Walsh from Brisbane.
Finally landed Laurie - who is exactly what we needed.
A fullback.

He knows we need some backs and he's been asking questions and trying to get some through the door. Issako, DWZ and finally sealed the deal with Maumalo.

Knows we need centres - brought in Jet and BJ earlier on.. has met with Seb Kris and apparently moving towards Harley Smith Shields and hopefully a few more when some are available.

He's been trying to clear out the deadwood and that takes time but we'll see it take shape at the end of this season.

Building our pack very nicely....
Not sure why he had Twal at 13 and Offa at prop but it's back to how it should be and he's possibly got TPJ joining....

Not to mention the Junior recruitment which is looking outstanding and the KOE squad looking top 4.

Well said @Demps

I know a lot want Madge gone,I think he took the job because he could see the huge potential here and thought he could be successful, trouble is he is trying to fix a culture that has been overly fed for years, its rotten and is right through the club..
I hope he stays and cleans the joint out with Sheens help, otherwise we are destined for the scrap heap which wont be his fault solely....
The top of the heap has a lot to answer for over the years....

He has to go.
AN interim coach needs to be appointed.
At this stage he's just destroying whatever confidence these players have left.

Wait for Ricky Stuart to wrongly get the sack sometime this year

Then we pounce I reckon

If not him then Bennet, otherwise no one else really grabs my attention to turn this joint around

I’d be on the phone to John Morris in the sheds. We have a young roster, we need a young coach.
Not this dinosaur crap

This is unacceptable. Defensive structure is horrible and our right edge are absolutely clueless. I’m a Madge fan but he’s lost the team.
We need new players no doubt but we should be competing harder than this.

Our forwards don’t run the ball hard, slow to play the ball it’s pretty much a training run.
Shane Flanagan is the only option in my view we can’t go to a rookie but Madge’s time is up.
These players know a bad performance or two more will do the trick.
