Madge Maguire - Mega Thread

The article says “Something has to give at Concord and there only seems to be two viable options ahead; send Maguire packing or undertake a complete roster overhaul.”

How do you overhaul the roster when the coach can’t attract players?

And most of the squad under contract.

I’m not convinced on this “coach can’t attract players” narrative. It’s true we can’t attract players, but when have we been able to attract players regardless who the coach is?

Reynolds, Packer, Mbye were attracted by the life changing absurd money they were offered, not the coach.

All these outsiders to the club giving their views, opinions etc. Lots of click-bait etc etc.

But not one is part of the review process.

Great debate for a forum; the real action stems from within club.

I guess the real proof of the value of the review will be what we are informed of later.

I think the real value of the review will be how the team performs in 2022, whoever the coach is.

100% Tiger tragic. You and I probably have different views about Madge, but in the end we all want success for the team. 2022 will be the ultimate test of whether the decisions made at the review were correct. Let's hope everyone gets on board, regardless of the choices made at the review.

One of the many problems is that there is no senior playing group. I would of wanted to keep Madge, hire new assistant coaches and recruit an actual senior playing group, but the drums are beating to loud to keep Madge and there aren't any leaders on the market. It would be interesting to see the reaction of a few on here if Madge is retained though....

That is it in a nutshell, there is only one viable way out

I think it heavily depends on who the coach is. This club needs a coach who can fully communicate with his players. This coach must be one whom the players want to play for with heart not just go through the motions with the inevitable results of the past three years. ..

From Brent Read:

The Tigers are expected to make a decision on coach Michael Maguire as early as next week. Weekend Read was hearing whispers on Friday that Maguire was becoming safer by the day, and chief executive Justin Pascoe and head of football Adam Hartigan were set to be the fall guys for another season of disappointment.

So Pascoe and Hartigan are setting themselves up for a fall? Really?

So it’s not the coach or the players that have failed for three seasons but the other two .. only this club could make something like this up !

Good i hope so, Pascoe anyway .
I remember when they sacked Taylor and he said they werent prepared to let another season slide. 5 slides later and this peanut has us on the teacups.
What a joker.

Hopefully Pascoe is gone, and we keep both Hartigan and Madge.

Find a CEO that’s run successful football clubs before.

They keep Maguire the club is done ! This is a pivotal moment for this club .. there HAS to be on field success and after 3 seasons of failure what fools actually think next season is any different the players want no part of him ! All I say good luck with all of that ! The CEO should go as with the coach and a few contracted players then your on the right track!

There is one person who is critical to the future of this club.

?

Hartigan is a must keep, we are a massive chance of getting this wrong and the decision will effect us for a long time.

Is it a fall, slap on the wrist or just a cop out?

I tend to agree, if we don’t change coaches the club is in huge trouble.
