The obfuscation blaming the Board and anyone else except Maguire has reached new heights, even for this Forum.

I could not care less if Maguire is replaced but if you think that will change Wests Tigers .. think again…

Very good financial position. tick
COE at Concord and Campbelltown tick tick
Great junior recruitment tick
Hartigan and Sheens onboard tick
New coach - hopefully sorted this week. tick

There are very positive changes happening.

Since you like quoting Gus so much I'll leave this here.

Gus has 100% interest in ensuring the Tigers remain a bad place. He did that at the Panthers before leaving and will do it at the Bulldogs. His primary job now is the Bulldogs. If we look good that impacts the Bulldogs.

As much as Gus wants success for the Dogs, I don't necessarily believe it is at the demise of Wests. He knows that what makes the game more successful is an even competition.

I think 2021 shows what happens when you have two speed competition in terms of interest and viewership.

We’re no threat to Gus

Give it 12 months and the playing group will be sabotaging equipment in the new COE because it’ll all become to hard
Soft cocks

Lol swapping out weight plates for identical looking versions that are much lighter. "We're all so strong this year, lifting the heaviest we ever have".

Its the equivelant of using a weight machine on light weight and then after finishing, put it on the heaviest weight to assert dominance ?

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet:

Wests Tigers board meets to decide Maguire's fate

The Wests Tigers board will convene on Monday afternoon with a firm decision on Michael Maguire's tenure set to be delivered in response to the club's annual review.

Club powerbrokers will meet via Zoom to discuss recommendations made from a review into the football department conducted by CEO Justin Pascoe and head of football Adam Hartigan, which took in interviews with senior players and staff.

The board first began dissecting the review last week before requesting further information, which will be put to them in Monday's meeting.

A vote on Maguire's future is expected to take place in a bid to bring conjecture around his position to a head.

Maguire's future at the joint-venture has been on tenterhooks since a dismal 38-0 loss to wooden spooners Canterbury earlier this month, compounding a 10th straight season since the Tigers last played finals football.

He has two years remaining on a deal that was extended by the Tigers just last December in a bid to create stability at the club.

A gradual slide from ninth to 11th to 13th during Maguire's three seasons in charge has prompted yet another overhaul, with club patriarch Tim Sheens to return in a head football role.

Sheens is still yet to arrive in Australia due to COVID-19 restrictions delaying his departure from the UK, but has taken part in elements of the review via Zoom as well.

The Tigers' inability to land a marquee signing in recent years despite realigning their salary cap is understood to have been a focus of the review process.

Recruitment and retention decisions have been put on hold since the end of the season given the conjecture around Maguire, with the Tigers boasting more than $1.5 million in salary cap space for next season.

That doesn't mean he isn't correct. I believe he is.

Didn’t say he wasn’t and I’m with you.

Yeah it was Chammas saying he is expecting Maguire to be punted and Ciraldo is the favourite to replace him.

Chammas said on 9 news that the Tigers haven’t played football for 10 years!!!

Yep, well if (and seemingly when) that happens, we can expect that same as normal for the next few years with players not putting in if they don't like something, until they complain enough and get their way to remove the next coach in a déjà vu situation.

Just on Cameron Ciraldo:

In 2017, Ciraldo was promoted to assistant coach of Penrith's NRL team to work under head coach Anthony Griffin.

In August 2018, Ciraldo was promoted to caretaker coach following Griffin's sacking as head coach.
Ciraldo guided Penrith to a 5th place finish and the club qualified for the finals. In week one, Penrith defeated New Zealand to set up an elimination final against Cronulla.
Cronulla went on to win the match 21-20.

All good if you have players who actually want to succeed rather than just collect a pay cheque.

Ciraldos job if he wants it eh...
But he doesn't want it

are we sure about that though? I can't blame him that he wouldn't but at this point it's only been Brent Read who has said its unlikely that he wants it. Chammas is unbelievably pro-Penrith and certainly has a source there and he hasn't said anything about Ciraldo not wanting the job. my gut feel is that Ciraldo will want to have a chat at the very least. how could you not?

People only assume that because he said he won’t comment at the moment which in my eyes could prove the opposite. Review wouldn’t have taken this long otherwise 👀
